I don’t want to make any crazy trades. Im fine with the status quo. Try and find a prospect centre a for Silovs, that’s about all I want them to do. I do not want to trade any of our young defensemen. I’d trade Lekkeramaki though.

Four playoff games for Demko ? Geez! I was kinda hoping the Canucks would be on an “up-swing” hopefully this year they have a great start.
And frankly, even if a team can win 2-1 consistently.. as Matt noted, that's BORING. If necessary, more rule changes will have to be made to prevent teams from playing that boring Minnesota/Jersey trap. I realize hockey is unlikely to ever be the number one sport in the United States, but the objective must be to move up in the ranks. At minimum, should be top 3.
I would trade Hoglander before Joshua
Alvin giving a positive talk of Chytil is a bad thing to do? GMs should pump the tires of their players, its a good move. Who wants a GM that shrugs his shoulders on players?
Joshus got a pass last season because of cancer. Everybody knows it, but Patterson has to say something about a player who went through cancer….not very classy.
If trading Dakota Joshua then do it after the season starts and he builds his stock up. If he is playing well he is a bonus to the team and played well in the playoffs. Hoglander seems to do the best in a bottom 6 role eating up other teams bottom lines rather than a top 6 winger…..unless he takes another step forward instead of a step backwards like last year.
Get rid of Joshua. 2023-24 was a unicorn year. Everyone knows this.

They talk like the Canucks can be cup contenders with just 1 or 2 moves? They are years away, but they can get better incrementally with smart moves. The worst is knee-jerk moves trying to hit a home run with the teams futures.
Trade Silovs, Aman, Lekkerimaki, and Hoglander
To put things into context, a 33yr-old Granlund went for $7mil/season times 3yrs in this free agency. Basically no team got better because the number of impact free agents were slim. If you're a general manager and you know your team isn't gonna get better, then you should at least re-sign your own players so that your team doesn't get worse…
Losing Suter, albeit not too surprising, is going to sting us a little no?

Expanding the league will be a massive issue with goaltending above all else because it's the first victim of capitalism as the crop of parents who could afford to put their kids in hockey, let alone in the most expensive position in almost any sport on the planet, is shrinking daily and were going to see a massive drop in goalie quality across the board.
