It's not some hard rule that when you start a rebuild, you have to trade your best player.
A show about our feelings about a player who left two years ago.
It has very little to do with nostalgia. It ended very ugly and there are a lot of reasons TO bring him back. What pisses me off is the reasoning they’ve given for not bringing him back. It makes TOO much sense to bring him back, it would help the young players more than the vets they brought in…there is no amount of mental gymnastics you can do to convince me our next era will be better off in the hands of a revolving door of vets, rather than Kane and Toews. Franchise greats stay with their orgs all the time. I want to know the real reason why the door is so firmly shut on the hawks end. And to answer what you said about Faulkner, that’s why her name comes up. People feel like she has her hands in the fact that they seem to have been excommunicated. Kane is still a very productive player…every offseason we’re looking for a player JUST like him, you couldn’t create a player in a lab better suited to fill the top 6 winger spot for the next few years. The fans want it, Kaner seems to be open to it…WHY NOT?? That’s why people can’t let it go. The reasoning doesn’t feel like the truth and it just makes too much sense and checks too many boxes not to even consider it
You can rebuild a team without burning the place down..
Honestly, feels more weird seeing Toews in a Jets jersey.
Mckenna 🚨🚨 🤘🤘💪💪🍻🍻
Bring back Kane!!! I'm so mad at KD, I want him fired so we have a better chance of getting Kane and Toews back
It was disappointing to see Kane traded, however I've been a Hawks fan my entire life – since I can remember – grew up watching the Hawks in the early to mid 80's so I've seen a lot of players come and go. I was 17 when Roenick was traded, which was difficult because he was one of my favorite players growing up, but so was Denis Savard – when he was traded I was pretty upset, I remember crying, lol.. I was like 10-11 at the time so I was pretty young and that was a trade that worked out really well for the Hawks, and Savy came back a few years later, but over time you understand players come and go, and it's ok to get attached but eventually they're going to be traded, sign elsewhere or retire – and that's sports, and how it works..
I will say tho, that ever since the Hawks drafted Bedard, I believe Kane would be an ideal linemate and I was hoping the Hawks would bring him back – it had nothing to do with the past at all, or anything of the sort, I was over that almost immediately (I was 30 when the Hawks won their first Cup, so it would certainly be pretty "weird" to be attached to a player like that at my age, lol) but as a hockey fan Kane makes sense both last summer, now and probably next summer as well from the Hawks perspective, BUT obviously it doesn't make much sense from Kane's perspective and that's OK – however the Hawks STILL need someone on Kane's level (the way he thinks the game, his hockey IQ) to play with Bedard, nothing changes that fact, and those types of players don't grow on trees, and they are almost NEVER available when they're young and rarely available when they're older so Davidson needs to take advantage of opportunities when they arise…. And I don't know why wanting to bring him back was so taboo for a few years there?? anytime a Hawks fan brought it up – they were accused of being "stuck in the past" and then lectured on how they need to move on…. Which I found flipping hilarious considering I'm 45-years old and wasn't that upset to see him go… Sure it was sad to see that era of Hawks end, but when an era ends a new one begins – and the Kane/Toews era wasn't my first rodeo with this team, and I don't anticipate dropping the Hawks anytime soon so if I'm alive it wont be my last, lol… And make no mistake – this new young Hawks team hasn't even begun, but it will end someday just like the Kane/Toews era did – and believe it or not – I did think about the end of that team/core and what it would be like after the Hawks won the Cup in 2010, and that's because I knew it wouldn't last forever… I was just convinced Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook and Sharp would be lifelong Blackhawks and retire here where it began… And who knows, perhaps Toews and Kane do come back for one last season when the Hawks are (hopefully) contenders a few years down the road.. Sure, they're in their later 30's now, but it's not uncommon for once elite players to be useful into their early 40's in various capacities, so both could realistically come back, make a Cup run with the Hawks and then retire in the right jersey the right way.. And I would give it a 50/50 chance one or both retire with the Hawks, I would up that to 75% chance if the Hawks are contenders in the near-future (next 3-4 years)..
When Coach Blashill was with the lighting. Sergachev was a +6, +13, -16 then traded so he played one in his plus 13 season he had like 50+ points. So idk why he’s crying
Kane was my sports hero growing up. I was 12 when he was drafted and dude almost instantly became that. My at that time 6-7 year hawks fandom definitely helped that lol. When I really started training hard in hockey around the same time I started calling my rebound passer Kaner. Both of my children had their 1 year pictures taken in a red #88 Kane jersey. It hurt like hell when he was traded but I understood. It's the way pro sports go. Man I would still love to see him play here and be on a line with Bedard but it will never happen. He's still my favorite player to this day and will likely stay that after he retires.
Mitch Marner did not win 3 Stanley Cups and a Hart Trophy. Most fans in Toronto ripped on Marner more than they cheered for him. I love Mario, but that was a bad comparison. Mitch Marner is not Patrick Kane.
I think he more than earned the right to break Stan Mikita's all time Blackhawks scoring record.
I can only think the worst here, but this happened around the same time as the Queenville/ Bowman thing. So they wanted a clean slate. Allegedly, some players were not kind to Kyle Beach when it was found out what happened to him. And maybe it was good natured kidding or maybe it was worse than that. Who were those players? Kane was still a knucklehead back then, sorry not sorry and maybe he was in on the kidding around whatever that was. And as captain of the team, it was Toews locker room.
There are some – on the lightning in 23/24 season but not just the defence. Steven stamkos and Brayden point were -16 and – 21 and hedman was a +18 so I wouldn’t put much thought into the plus minus stuff
Revisionist history happening Kaner didn't want to be apart of the rebuild. Kaner signed with Detroit. The Breadman now has a contract Rangers would like to move. You can right that wrong, that had haunted the org.
Honestly if you took the name and face away he would've been a perfect 2-year deal to play with Bedard
