  1. I hope Matthew's, Marner, and Nylander are paying attention to real hockey team.

    No Grit
    No Grind
    No Greatness!

    MLSE, nice slogan!

  2. Not one high stick by the Oilers was missed by the officials in 6 games. Can this be said for Florida's highsticks. The league's official's always favor the US franchises and always will.

  3. Panthers aren't that good. They have a good goalie. Panthers played with heart and grit through the whole game.. Which the Oilers lack.

  4. …here in Buffalo, where "back to back" refers to not making the playoffs. Congrats 'Cats!

  5. kinda just goes to show how much better the Panthers are than all those Western teams that Edmonton beat out (LA, Vegas, Dallas).
Carolina, Toronto and Tampa all ran into the same trouble with the Panthers. The Leafs actually had a good team and were the closest.
But tbh even the Leafs got blown out badly in the elimination game.

  6. florida figured mcdavid and draisaitl out by about game 4. florida got used to the spots they were trying to get to on the ice and just keyed on everything for the next 3 games shutting things down. coming into this series I said if the oilers were gonna win it was going to have to be on the power play and i think edmonton were defeated mentally once florida rattled off a number of big PKs in a row in game 5.

  7. One could say without Mcdavid and Leon, the Oilers wouldn't have won 1 game let alone get past the first round like everyone predicted wrong.

Last years cup winner got a HOF winger and a 1st line veteran defenseman at the trade deadline while the Oilers got a 3rd line injured player who wasn't able to get into the lineup till the playoffs. That was the difference maker.
Add Hyman and take away Marchand and Jones and Oilers would have won probably.

  8. Watching this game reminded me of The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks a team focused on Offense and another that focused on defense and Seahawks just destroyed broncos by like 40 pts

  9. Cant score if their on their ass.
My daugbter and son in law stayed up in Ireland to watch that game would of been 1:00 am there and that all oilers could do. Better keep Kane hes the only one that hits

  10. Can't believe the people were shocked how Florida shutdown Edmonton. They literally did this to every team coming out of the east.

  11. If I was an oilers fan I would be very upset with skinner, some of the worst Stanley cup final goaltending in awhile

  12. McDavid looks resigned. Panthers are good. You have to be better than them to beat them. The reason Oilers lost isn't that Panthers are good, the reason is that Oilers aren't good enough. McDavid looks like there was no way of beating them. There is.

  13. Oilers were overmatched in both years. Last year should have been a sweep, 5 games at most. This year looked like a 6-game sweep. Oilers hugely lucky to win any games in this series. Knoblauch did a poor job this series — Skinner never should have seen the ice after Game 3. It's a series; once the other team has your goalie figured out, you can't just throw him back out there. In his defense, Pickard is pretty bad as well. Can't put your two best players on one line in the playoffs — you make the other team's coach's job twice as easy.

  14. Being based in a state like Florida is obviously a competitive advantage that should be addressed.

  15. Game 6 and 7 last year , McDavid zero pts. Game 6 this year Zero Pts. Florida is the best all round 200 ft team since the 80 to 83 Islanders. Florida has 4 lines and 6 D deep and a GOALIE.

  16. Florida had four working lines we had two……..Florida played their youth, Oilers hate their youth…….Florida has a goaltender, Oilers have two backups! Florida has a coach that lets his players play, we have a coach that mangles lines by the minute…….enough said!

  17. The emotion more than anything crumbled these guys. Same thing as last year. They just didnt handle it and it broke them. Stick slamming, coasting, not getting to the bench?!? I mean in a normal NHL game thats crazy, the final? Man oh man

  18. Oilers were worse then the leafs. They never showed up for the last 2 games. They got whipped in the last 2 games, plus superstars McDavid and Draisaitl did nothing in the last 2 games. And McDavid only one goal in the finals and this guy wants to be the goat. Let's hope the Oilers don't get back for a third time just to get beat again.

  19. As a Stars fan, I thought McDavid and Draisatl were just straight up unstoppable. Boy did Florida show me how it's done

  20. To bad for the oilers and maybe get rid of kane he showed that he is a poor excuse for a hockey player for not coming out of the dressing room to join the hand shake line on the ice very poor sport do yourself a favor Edmonton get rid of the bum

  21. In order to win more championships Canada has bid for expansions in NBA WNBA MLB NFL MLS UFL no excuse if they want championships in Canada
