They need a true #2 centre, as Tavares will only be able to handle this position for the next year or so. Also, stop trading picks and prospects and build from within. There's absolutely no reason the Leafs can't have one of the best pipelines in the league as they can afford to spend tons on development. Acquiring players at the trade deadline or during free agency hasn't worked.
Glad the team is finally going away from the Core 4 model that also doesn't work, but they need more offensive depth if they want to be successful in the playoffs. Defence and goaltending is solid, but the lack of secondary scoring is killing them when the playoffs start. Florida had a killer 3rd line with Marchand there and he made us pay.
I like most of what Treliving has done so far. He's getting rid of the entitlement mentality among the players and getting big players who can play. He's also not getting hosed in trades, unlike another Leafs GM who was pretty green, despite all the hype around his "analytics insight".
This kid is going to surprise everyone, and one day I believe he'll become Captain of the Leafs.

I'd say no way do you trade this guy. You can rebuild the next era of this team around Knies and Cowan if they ever need to do a reset, I think losing Minten will be looked back as a mistake, people speak highly of carlo I think he has no impact and what good is being 6'5'' if you don't play tough or physical, Treliving got totally outclassed by florida trades, toronto with Marchand and Seth Jones instead of Laughton and Carlo probably means we beat florida and I think toronto vs florida was effectively the cup final….
Easton Cowan will be playing in Germany or Switzerland in 2 years. Smartest move would be to trade him now. His trade value will never be higher than before training camp starts.
Thrun will be gone on waivers before the season. This trade was ONLY about dumping Reeves salary.
I wouldn't trade Cowan he has lots of skill like Gilmour potential. So leafs don't trade him you will fck yourselves like always
Don't forget, that was McMann's very first playoff run, so he was a rookie essentially at that level of hockey.

Cowan is a winner and is exactly the type of player the Leafs need especially in the playoffs.
Cowan should pass over some of these no show players in the playoffs.
I think they should keep Robertson , put him on the second line let him score goals and if they want trade him at the trade deadline when he has value.
Play Cowan and Robertson, trade off a couple of stiffs for a broken hockey stick then have cap space at the trade deadline.
Easton Cowan is a player every team would Love to have , playing for them. It would be Another Unforgivable Stupid Trade The Leafs would make should they actually trade him. Dumping Jarnkrok, and Kamp is going to be next to impossible, they are totally useless, nobody in their right mind would want them on their team. Mixed thoughts: If Easton Cowan ends up on the thrid line I'm not sure he's going to be very successfull. I think he needs better skilled players around him.
Why rush a good prospect. They already have an experiment going with Matias to see if he can return to form. We need size and grit so McMann is a 20 goal guy with size. Cowan needs lots of ice time which he will only get in the minors. If he shows he can excel you can bring him up if injuries arise. We need some guys who can play and can protect the top guys from being run over every playoffs.
Easton is a 3rd line player at this time, until he proves otherwise! May need some seasoning with the Marlies, before he becomes a full-time NHLer?

After the top 3 playoff performers (Mathews, Nylander and Marner) the Team was -32 in the Post Season, yet, the multitude of intellectually lazy Leaf Lemmings echo what morons like Rose pukes out every day. If 12.5 feet and 450lbs of linemates play soft and are invisible vs the Panthers, is it possible, reasonable to expect 175lb Marner to carry the Line and Team? Did Knies defend the Teams best player when he was being brutalized by Tkachuk? I am not being paid by the Leafs like the jock sucking Rose is so I will tell the truth. Trey Living is killing this Team and they won’t come close to finishing the regular season like they did. They WILL NOT advance past the 1st round…should they make the Playoffs. Knice will not score 26g and “Captain” Courageous will never come close to scoring 70g again without Mitch making it all happen every shift (EV, PP and PK). Who will replace his TOI?

We can’t be giving up anymore prospects or picks we have very little in the pipeline and no first round picks for the next 2 years. Leafs have quickly have turned into old team
I’d like to see him play under 10 games and spend a year developing with the marlies. Maybe give us a push in playoffs next year like Knies did
