You'd have thought by now Bettman and the owners would have sat Pegula down and said it's time you stepped aside and let hockey people make the hockey decisions in Buffalo.

The comment during the draft "You can tame a tiger but you can't put stripes on a pussycat". Kevyn has been trying to put stripes on pussycats for 5 years. Same thing with Mrtka at Prospect Camp he looked very pedestrian and aloof. Big deal he's 6'6 yeah he can "absorb" hits but he looks like a pussycat and plays like a kitty cat.
Fan base deserves playoffs and they are coming. Winning solves everything. Love this core. Only Lindy’s second year. Lindy, as well as the players, can’t do anything about all those past years. Team will not leave Buffalo. Rob Ray needs to and will call playoffs.

Who says the league is concerned?? "Sources"?? LOL The NHL stinks! If the NHL was concerned about parity they would eliminate no trade clauses, guaranteed contracts, adjust for state and province income taxes, etc. etc. They couldn't care less about competitive parity.
Where was this concern from the league during “No Goal”, the Puck through the side of the net against Philly and during the McDavid Draft Lottery?!
Even if just ONE of those “Screw Jobs” not happening could have changed the entire course of this team’s history!

Yeah, with the streak I understand… from WWII until 67… 6 teams… 4 make the playoffs.. then in the expansion year… 8 of 12 make the playoffs.. by the time of just before the WHA merger.. 12 of 18 (17 at the merger as the Barons folded) and after the merger… 16 of 21… You had to work to miss them.. until the 90's when expansion started and they went from 21 teams to the 32 of today… but they have not expanded the playoffs… So it's only the last 20-25 years where you can be pretty good and miss the playoffs…

What a dumb comment by Chris Johnson . The league is the reason they are stuck there. Allowing 40% NTC keeps bad teams bad.

NTC/NMC , taxes and no palm trees. Of course , the NHL has it fav cities. Giving players a NTC/NMC of course small market teams are going to get shafted. Especially with some teams having a tax advantage. Players and agents have to much control.
Eliminate three-point games. Eliminate the stupid ass shoot-out. Have the game end in a tie if thats the case for one point each.

MRTKA was a good draft 👍 eager to see Hellenius. We'd really like to see a 'Lord Hellenius' to go with a 'Lord Helleson'… But the Helleson ship sailed for 1.1mil. So we really coulda been all kinds of 'Hella' to play against but we'll take a Hellenius for a starter with an Operation 'Get Helleson' down the road 👍 🏒
IM SO SICK OF IT!!!!! How are the Sabres run by the same ppl that run the Bills… Night and FUCKING DAY how those two organizations are run… The Bills would have to TRY their damn hearts out to miss the playoffs and the Sabres couldn't trip into the playoffs in a 1 team race

Remove no trade clauses and the draft lottery and maybe bad teams could improve. So much is stacked against teams like the sabres where sometimes it feels impossible to make improvements. Forever stuck in limbo. But let's not deny that terrible decision making from ownership and management is the main reason for this mess
If Helenius or Ostlund made the team and was in the Calder discussion something went very right. I also do not think it is likely however there is still a possibility there that either could want to be in Buffalo so bad. And their play dictates to the organization that they deserve a spot over someone else.
Lets say Ostlund proves through all the Pre-season games he deserves a shot and we do. Then in 20 games he has something like 4 goals 10 assist. You are throwing him on your 2nd line with Tuch and Norris and leave him there.
With Norris at some point he is going to get a hang nail and need to be out 5 months for it. So I do expect Ostlund and Helenius to be given a chance to be in the top 6. Even Rosen can be tried in the top 6 during a call up. The good thing about Norris is if he does get hurt it will give these 3 players a chance to make this team. If any of these 3 are ready and can prove they are ready to be a top 6 player they will stick.
The Sabres now do not need to rush a player who is not ready which is good. However if any of these players prove they are ready there is a spot for them.
Hell yeah, how many fans can one GM turn off on the sport. Draft develop and trade away is a recipe for mediocrity. At this point the sabres are striving to be mediocre.
