The only issue with Rust or Rakell is that they are both right handed. Usually teams are scrambling for righties, but that's not the case for Detroit. If the Wings got Rust, 3 of the wingers in their top 6 would be right-handed. Raymond, Debrincat, and potentially Rust are all righties.
the wings are starting get old
The Pens are going to land McKenna aren't they? 🤮
rust is not the trade that will oxidize detrroits roster
JVR is too old to be a good consistent top6
These moves are going to make detroit the minnesota wild of the eastern conference
He’s playing along side Crosby, one of the best distributors in the game though
33 yrs old, not a long term guy. Nope
How much can Yzerman really give up for a 33 year old who will be on his last legs or retired when the team starts competing? Yzerman would have to give up a guy he doesn't mind losing like Berggren. I could see Pittsburgh trying to get a little younger and see what happens and Yzerman definitely doesn't need Berggren for… Well, anything really. Perhaps he could trade Berggren for Rust and then package Rust for an upgrade. Rust is too old to be the future but he has value and could help build the future.
I've never even heard of Bryan Rust 😂.
I liked his Brother when he played for U of M….but no we don't need another olde Winger on this team..
Another great presentation and video Lego. Appreciate the deep dives, especially on the Wings. Yes, I am a fan. But I also enjoy your very balanced approach and your enthusiasm for hockey as well.
I’m done with the Michigan convention. We have prospects and time to see what some can do. He holds them back so he can sign them cheaper but he will end up losing them if he doesn’t see what they can do in the NHL before trading away top prospects for a over the hill player who is not going to be the future.
Honestly! Can we just skip this season coming up. Florida’s already won it again! I don’t see anyone beating them sadly!! Bettman needs to go! This is one of the saddest off seasons in quite sometime… We’re almost at end of July and nothing..Lame… and all these targets are old and could improve for a pinch but not to give up the future..
Rust is a perfect fit for the red wings exactly especially since he’s a Michigan native
Hard pass
Maaaaaaan I just wish we’d get a deal done to try to shore up that top line left wing. All these rumors do is give me false hope that we might actually get a Dude.
Won’t happen
If SY is going to make a trade, go get Robertson from Dallas, or just wait until next summer. Right now we have over 12 million in cap space, and16 million coming off the books next summer. SY can go after a lot of top talent. Also, most of our Michigan players haven't panned out (Robertson would).
