He won't ever be a number 1 in the NHL.
They were going to lose him for nothing. This way, they have a lottery ticket.
Winning the calder cup in the ahl and the equivalent of the conn smythe isn't nothing, but its going to be hard for him to become a 1a in the nhl
Good trade. He’s a lucky goalie and a backup he is.
I think it all boiled down to optometry. Silovs looks to have solved this issue & few if any weak-spots in his game remained to be exploited during the Abby Canucks Championship AHL play-off run.
Silovs thrives under pressure & with regular playing time. The bigger the game or the stage the better! Getting up for every contest & putting on a great show whenever the opportunities may arise, as a back-up, perhaps, is the real challenge, if not playing games as regularly. That speaks more to coaching, practice & his work habits as an NHL stater or not, …which can be far more easily solved & addressed – than the over-all skill-set & physical attributes.
Best wishes, Arturs! There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you are destined for great things!
Only became an ahl calder cup mvp… goof
He will be a starting goalie and will be a superstar, mark my words
He didn’t have to be a number 1 with Vancouver. They had a potentially strong duo with him and Lankinen. And, I think the argument can be made that Silovs is less of a question mark going forward than Demko.
