1. Great topic Joe, I think its really fair to ask Benson to hit 50points this season. With 18A he can easily topple that, and he should have more finishes to chances tha n10G. I expect he should hit close to 20G. I think Quinn will be better this year. His 15 goals came really late in the year…I hope to see him hit 25+ and work on his passing game. Kulich played an impressive rookie year even though he didn't get the full season there. I think Kulich's strength is his faceoff wins, which is what the Sabres need badly. If they want their PP and PK to be better, that is the immediate area that Thompson cannot fill. OP will be much better. He and Dahlin will be the main guys that will start all the offense this season. Adding their defensive D men and 200 foot game forwards "should" allow 35-45 less goals against this year.

  2. Sabres in Raleigh is great. Buffalo fans have dominated it many times before. I was supposed to meet alumni at backyard bistro but the pandemic happened like 3 days before it happened.

  3. Great show. I believe if Levi's new salary 1) exceeds $1.07M and 2) is "one way," meaning he gets it even if playing in the AHL, then it does count against the cap. My guess is Levi is about to get a one way $3M-3.5M deal.

  4. Your dreaming if you think Benson is going to double his goals. He's a 3rd line player at best. Kulich is going to have a sophomore jinx this year. And Quinn there is no excuse this year it's been 2 years since the ankle injury – Enough.

  5. Break-out for me. Team wise-Our PP & PK & defensive effort & goaltending . Than we are a playoff team. And our home record has to be .650 % plus

  6. the 3 keys for me are all possible : Dahlin career year 82-90 points, Tage 50 goals and UPL has a .905 – .910 SV %..if those 3 things happen? the rest of the team will feed off of it and things will just fall into place..

  7. There will be no breaking out, unless you mean Tage, Rasmus and Bowen breaking out of the team to play for a contender. Kevyn Adams built a team that's guaranteed to miss the playoffs for a 15th consecutive season.

  8. How about playing up to their contracts and not what we have watched sense they have come into the league.

  9. I used to respect your opinion, but time and time again you post some dumb crap.

  10. Unreal that we must rely on 21 year olds to play the most critical roles for a team. Does anyone truly think the sabres are gonna make the playoffs with this forward core?

  11. Love your show. I'm an Oilers fan and can't stand the Locked on Oilers guy. so boring. I'll be in Buffalo Nov 17th for the Oilers, Love going to Keybank Arena.

  12. Now that I live in Florida, I catch as many Sabres games as I can in Tampa. I’d catch some Panthers games too if they were just a BIT closer.

Amalie Arena is a pretty decent building. Both inside and the immediate outside area. The area surrounding the building though, reminds me of the days of going to the AUD.

  13. I think Quinn either breaks out or breaks completely. Quinn has so much talent but didn’t have the worth ethic. Maybe now he will since his former linemate is now in Utah.

Players who need a breakout the most are Quinn, Benson, and Power.

The ones who will? Probably Doan, Benson, and Kulich.

  14. Power will average less playing time form last year because byram was probably promest more

  15. Quinn came into last season out of shape and unprepared. He probably had some lingering effects front the 2 injuries he was healing from the season before. But he looked pretty good at the tail end of that prior season so I dont know how much I really believe that. I also believe that he was not preforming due to playing with Cozens as well which was absolutely horrendous & useless last year. Kulich had a good rookie year when he was used properly and had the proper support. I feel he will very good this season. I also hope Benson will take a big step forward this season, but that will only happen if he spends / has spent all summer in the gym getting bigger, heavier & training his ass off. If your gonna play in the NHL as a small player you gotta be a pit bull like Nate Gerbe or Theo Flurey were. Otherwise he will be pushed around like he has been the past 2 years. Gotta give him credit though for doing what he has so far as a very young small player 2 years in at the NHL level.

  16. I honestly think Quinn has a good shot to breakout this year. Gotta remember this kids suffered horrible injuries while he was still so young. He’s finally got a healthy season behind him and a full offseason and if he comes back In “elite condition” the kids got all the talent to get to 50-55 points. And that’s a steal at this contract rn

  17. We need someone like Quinn to bust out for 50!! If Danny gare could do it, certainly Jack Quinn can make it close! 😊

  18. This team is 2-3 key players away from being seriously competitive. 20+ one goal losses last year (accounting for empty 🥅 ers) +Kesselring, Timmins, Doan, Danforth, Lyon… The blue line is better, the team is grittier (especially with Greenway healthy). Is it enough? It could be for playoffs, probably not to go too far beyond that 🏒

  19. Statistically, Kulich and Benson are pretty much set up to have better numbers, otherwise you have a top-line C with 9 assists or a winger with 10 goals playing a lot of minutes. Also, Kesselring pretty much has to be a breakout player, because this is a tissue-thin D corps loaded with injury-prone guys, plus whatever Power is rehabbing.
