That's it a 1st round pick Lego says. Karlson ain't worth a 1st round pick bud he can't play defense we don't want him
Funny that's too much for me. With no retention either? No Thanks, Detroit passes.
i feel if pesn could get 1st or 261st for karlsson then i feel its good trade
So the red wings will have to eat his contract? The 10 million I mean. Pittsburgh would have to eat a good portion of his salary for this even to be a thought.
NO WAY.
I wouldn’t want to trade Mazur for him…and if Buium is in it, and if a 1st or 2nd is involved, they have to take 1/2 the salary.
…or, just do do it!
Everyone loves the mid-late 90's wings. But ppl forget the drought we had before that. We still need patiences.
If Karlsson couldn't keep Pittsburgh in the playoffs then I doubt he would get the wings in
Yzerman won't give up a first for him, at best it will be a 2nd and a b prospect
I PRAY THE WINGS DONT GET KARLSSON !!! I don't mind trading picks/prospects but go get someone better i.e. Byram or Roberston or both.
Byram = Bergren, Buium, 2026 & 2028 2nd round picks
Robertson = Compher, MSN, 2026 – 1st, 2027 – 2nd
No way….Buium is going to be a very good D man in the NHL. Karlsson is on the way down.
Not giving up a 1st in any way for Karlsson.
Nope still don't want him…..just some guys opinion of what the Pens would take, not fact. Talking heads gonna talk.
Karlson is nice but no way in hell do we need to blow a hole in the depth chart and picks to grab a player that will be retired when our window is open.
All these "Trade rumors for aging vets" are getting old.
I sure hope the Red Wings do this lol
If you go to the Pittsburgh Penguins in puckpedia, it will show you their cap hit to the team
First round pick😂. No chance, wasted video content…. Yzerman would never entertain this.
No deal
“Mazur and a 1st, that’s it”?? Are you kidding? Steve Yzerman would NEVER give up a 1st and Mazur for an old Dman who doesn’t play D on his way to retirement. Wings fans will all call for SY’s head! Hard Pass!
Mazur AND a top-15 protected 1st for Erik Karlsson.. and no salary is retained?!? How about.. no.
If you make $11.5M/year, nothing about you is cheap. And that acquisition cost is outrageous for the Wings. Getting paid a solid-but-not-elite prospect and a 1st round pick to rid yourself of an EIGHT FIGURE Cap dump – no way.
Plus, why should a rebuilding team jettison a veteran DMan contract? The Cap is going through the roof, so who cares if the contract is expensive? And if it is expensive, why not retain for a bigger return of picks and other futures? It is only two years of your rebuild, after all.
Unless, the player isn't anywhere near worth the money….
Hshahaha! 10 million reasons to say “NO!”
Actually, 10 million and 1. Anything to help the Pens is not something Yz should do. A team the league hates helping the NHL’s darlings? Just say no to Bettman.
Doesn't matter what I want or Wings want, Karlsson has the no movement clause. If I were him, I would want to go to a contender, or at minimum, a team that makes the playoffs regularly.
