karlsson makes the most sense from all points you guys labeled. 2nd pair RHD. Can play PP1. If pens retain cap, that helps their rebuild and maintaining the cap floor which is $70.6 million this season and $76.9 million in 26-27 where the pens currently will only have $50mil in cap with karlsson in that season. Give them holl and two 2nds and call it a deal if they retain 35%.

Brian rust actually does make sense unless you just wanna go with youth . Can’t have it both ways though , rust is an upgrade on anything we have outside the top 2 lines . He can play both wings so we can have options
Robertson and McTavish would cost the same. McTavish can play center and is younger while Robertson is already a lethal player
I would love to see Yzerman trade for Jason Robertson and Bowen Byram. If Yzerman is able to trade for those players and keep their top prospects, it would be worth it. Would these trade proposals be enough to entice Buffalo and Dallas?

Detroit is a mess most had them penciled in last year instead a weak MTL squad got in.Even CLB came out of nowhere and if not for some timely injuries imo they would have passed MTL plus the fact MTL was gifted a win from Carolina the last game of year sitting out several players.
I honestly don't know what Det can do it's like they already waited too long and imo Robertson is going nowhere unless you can offer up a really good D man with a low contract.
I feel like it is going to be another frustrating yea for Det fans MTL continues to push San Jose is only a year away from contending a playoff spot Boston will trying hard to push back into a playoff spot it looks rough for Det.
Mason McTavish is by far the best trade. He made Cossa look very average with his game winning goal in the 2022 Memorial Cup semi-final that eliminated Edmonton. Actually McTavish scored twice in that game as the Hamilton Bulldogs went on to win the final.
