But seriously, yeah, if the D in front of Stu does their job (including the forwards) his job is a lot easier and his wins will be higher. Thanks for the vid. Take care all.
It's not that Skinner is bad. He's just not as good as the Oilers need him to be. A goaltender needs to be able to steal 4-6 games a year. Stu hasn't been able to do that.
(Prematurely) celebrating Skinner as a top five Oilers goaltender (based on wins) is a wild take. First, almost every goalie beyond the top four is trash. Yes there are some great names on the list but their tenures with the Oilers were terrible. They were either old and washed up, young and not yet great, randomly mediocre or were stuck on a horrific Dark Decade Oilers lineup. Skinner is basically the only proper goalie since McDavid arrived and as such, has capitalized on his ability to carry the club to Ws.
