  1. Thomas Vanek was a very good player 🏒🚨.
Didn't know he was on the Sharks staff 🦈🤯.

  2. Hey Brodie and Thomas,
Very good conversation Brodie. I have never heard Thomas speak before what a smart guy. I understand a little better why Mike Grier values him. Thomas congratulations on the new job man and thank you for all the hard work you are doing to help the Sharks find players. I couldn't agree more with you Thomas. It's fairly easy to spot first round talent. Finding guys in the bottom 4 rounds…that is next level hard. Yet, the Sharks and I am sure every NHL franchise has their success stories of guys they found late in the draft or brought in on a trial like Dan Boyle.

It is really difficult to tell what is inside a 17-19 year old young man in terms of character and what their potential is but, I think it's critical if you want a contending team for a cup you have to find players who turn out to have viable, solid NHL careers like Justin Braun, Jake Middlefield, Andrew Desjardins, Tommy Wingels, Yvgenny Nabakov or Joe Pavelski.

Love the attitude Thomas and I will root for you on all those road trips in the middle of nowhere on your way to another small town to watch more young players.

  3. 1:48 "What is a good scout?"

I know this one! "A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent." Also, they're always prepared!

  4. Considering one of my first moves in NHL 10 was to get Vanek on the Sharks, him eventually joining the team in real life just feels right.
