What exactly does the GM of a tournament such as the 4 Nations do? Choose the players? Anything else that's important?
Don Sweeney did his job and made several trades at the deadline for a cup run; losing was on the players. Also, the last year of Marchand's captaincy was turbulent; the dressing room was toxic
I remember where I was when I heard about the 8/25/12 trade, and was very happy to hear of it. I was at a Lowell Spinners game.
Sweens inherited a good team. Take Pasta off this current team and thats truly Sweens team. Let that sink in. He has too many draft misses and too many FA misses. His vision of a team of 4th liners is a huge miss as well. He never found a winger for kriejci, never had a plan to replace kriejci or bergy, unless it was john beecher lol. He traded a vezina winner for a 4th liner and a guy who may never make the ahl nevermind nhl. He got rid of multiple top 6 wingers and replaced them with nhl/ahl tweeners. Pastas deal is good but Mac, Sway, Lindhom, Jeannot, Zadorov and others are all overpaid for what they bring to the team. Sweens is horrible.
