  1. The Canucks had the 4th highest Cap Hit of Injured players play year and they were the only team in the top six of that stat whose starting goalie was out for significant time. And before anyone says anything, yes, they are lower on that list if you look it up on the NHL Injury Viz site. However, that site includes players who are injured for the full season. If a player is on LTIR the whole season, then their cap hit is zero. For example, Backstrom and T.J. Oshie are "retired". They were paid nearly $15 million combined by the Capitals last year, but they had no cap hit, so that didn't hurt the team on ice.

If they were just a middle of the pack team as far as injuries, then they would have made the playoffs with ease.

Because of that, I think they will bounce back this year and they should be aiming for third place. Hell, if they can get a real 2c, then they could go even higher.

  2. If Pettersson doesn't perform again, we have no proper C players so we might see a trade early of someone if we can grab someone to fill that role in some way

  3. The Canucks are extremely hard to predict. If everything clicks they could push to finish in the top three of the Pacific but they could also implode and finish in the bottom three.

  4. You should do a top 10 hardest working forwards in the nhl. Even if that’s just your 10 favourite players 😂

  5. There will be no drop off for Abbotsford in goaltending because silvos was in Vancouver the majority of last season. Tolopilo was the starter and I think can be just as good if not better than silvos.

  6. Could be another disappointing season. Even if Pettersson rediscovers his scoring the team just doesnt have much depth.

  7. Demko stays health, Elias comes back to elite. Quinn continues being himself and Evander keeps his temper in check then there is a chance

  8. Playing at home doesn't always mean it's easier to win. Canucks generally always play better on road

  9. Sorry, too many IFs. Demko staying healthy, Lankinen measuring up again, Hughes not getting injured, Petterson returning to where he has been, the rest doing at least as well as they have in the past, the unknown with Foote….
3rd or 4th in the division at best, maybe. I feel for Hughes though. He deserves to be on a serious SC contending team.

  10. Why do people keep putting Hoglander in the top 6… best season is 36 points. Also, is he playing his off wing in this list??

  11. My take for this season is that with myers getting older, one of the younger dmen will have a breakout season and replace him on the second pairing, and make myers better by reducing his minutes and just using him for shutdown minutes

  12. If Chytil and Pettersson don't bounce back this can easily turn into a bottom 10 finish. Everything will depend on the shoulders of Hughes and Demko, if they get injured, good luck.

  13. You have Evander Kane and you definitely will make the playoffs…I don’t know why the oilers traded him and I’m mad about it!

  14. There are 3 teams im cheering for with a 4th ill ad last
    Oilers
    Winnipeg
    Canucks
    And Ottawa

Either of these teams id be thrilled if they go all the way
