I would love to see McD in a leaf jersey, he has always wanted to be play here, i really doubt it will happen, but i wish it would.
That would be an absolute dream if McDavid came over to play as a Leaf. I would absolutely see them bringing the cup home and adding a large section of Leaf stars to legends row.
EDM has had two of the BEST players in the League carry them into the finals for two years in a row. Otherwise they got lucky from others off and on so they really caught lightning in a bottle – twice in two years.

Although McDavid will be a Leaf I don’t see him hanging the Oilers out and walking. I see a trade by the trade deadline so the Oilers get something for him.
Marner leaving might have been a blessing in disguise if McDavid takes up that cap space next summer

The Leafs find ways to lose — it was funny at first but its now painful to watch…. They almost had the Panthers down 3-0 in the playoffs. UP in game 3 but let them off the hook. With Marner making excuses for his lack of play again…….Grit/ will 2 win always prevails over skill……. If the Oilers could have Alberta born players they would start with Makar/parayko/ jake/ Hart – ( And win every year) —- but the NHL DOES NOT WORK that way….. The Leafs are long overdue to make the FINAL but Conner is NOT A MIRACLE worker as you all saw in the FINAL…..
He grew up in the area, his familly and childhood friends are there, his wife is also from the area… He grew up a Leafs fan according to his uncle Red McDavid.. who I met here in Edmonton a few years ago more than once since we both attended the Freedom rallies. who told me he was disappointed to get drafted by Edmonton wanted to play for the Leafs.. His family Leafs fans and Connor fans obviously..so they probably like Edmonton somewhat as well since he currently plays here… just saying he will sign in Toronto eventually…
My bet is that is has a lot to do with how far the leafs go this year. He wants to be a leaf yes but he wants to win a cup.
It requires two scenarios coming true.
1. Edmonton has to prove that it's not willing to make serious changes in net and in depth.
2. The leafs need to make a deep run to prove to him that putting him on a fast line with willy and leaving auston on the forecheck line with JT as 3C would be the missing piece

There's really no need for Connor to sign an extension now. A lot can happen in one year so it doesn't make sense to lock himself in now.
Poor Leaf fans…They are doing analytical gymnastics to make the case that McDavid is going to the Leafs. If you listen to them McDavid is coming to the leafs for Max Domi 😂. I remember the euphoria and cup counting that happened when Brian Burke was brought in.
Even if Mcdavid somehow signed with the Leafs, they still wouldn't make it past the second round 🤣😂
