Chiarot cannot be in the Top 4, if this team expects to be a legitimate playoff contender.
And I like Chiarot's energy. He just needs to harness it. He's too wild, blows everything up when he goes rogue. He can work, on the bottom pair, but I think I've seen some of his negative tendencies rubbing off on Seider, and I don't like it.
Not in the division they're in, they're just not talented enough and the way they fold down the stretch is an even bigger problem. The make up of the team is fundamentally and fatally flawed.

The Red Wings D still a big problem. We need to add a top four LD, and a top six forward. RD is still a big question mark.
Gibson and more consistent goaltending would give the Wings a lot more improvement than just 2-4 points, if they just had decent goaltending the last 2 years they would have made the playoffs.
I watched locked on Red Wings every day. I actually like both Chairot and Copp as players just not a fan of their contracts and Chairot needs to play on the 3rd pairing. I like what he brings though and both of their leadership.

I'll focus on the Pistons for the third straight year. As for the NHL, this will be year five of watching the Panthers. No playoffs here.
Defense is the downfall for the Wings. They don’t have the depth to compete for a playoff spot. Too much pressure is put on rookie defenseman, the defenseman have to be allowed to mature without the amount of pressure that is being put on most of Detroits core.

The Wings are in the worst spot you can be in, the mushy middle. Not good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to tank for a top 3 pick either.

Wings are a few years away from making the playoffs. At least 3-4 years, when teams like Tampa Bay, Toronto and Florida start their downfall.

Gibson is NOT a solid goaltender, and he wont contribute much to the team. Look at his record, He loses twice as many game as he wins. his average win percentage for the past 5 years is right at 29%. Definitely NOT worth the Second Round 2027, or Fourth Round 2026 Draft Picks…
