I believe he will sign a 2-4 year deal giving him 3-5 more years total then re up again as cap goes up (worst case scenario he can always ask to be traded so riding out the whole year makes little sense as it would be a distraction), BUT even Oilers fans gotta admit they’re at least a TAD nervous it hasn’t gotten done yet.

If McDavid really wants the Cup in Edmonton, then he will have to leave some money on the table. Make it a team friendly contract. If he want's the big bag of money, then the dream of winning the Cup begins to fade. Just think about what the long-term legacy of being a Cup Champion could mean. You will get endorsement money anyways.

He's going to succeed in his dream where ever goes after this coming season after a wasted decade and I'm very happy for him . His wife being an interior designer and fashion designer is going to finally succeed to way higher levels getting out of that oil town and somewhere they both will thrive .It will be a beautiful ending for both , I'm so happy for them
