I'm not counting out Levi yet… goalies take longer and he's still young.. UPL I've given up on… his numbers.. with the exception of 1 good year.. flat line.. no change, from ECHL, AHL to NHL… with 1 aberration… I don't care who plays.. but they need to play better.. and right now… it's a GIANT QUESTION MARK…

I've never been a big UPL fan and I was never a Ullmark fan neither. Both those goalies play a similar style. Ullmark is good in the regular season and will never be a playoff goalie same with UPL. Anyone who is saying Levi is a bust doesn't know a dam thing about goalies. It took Ryan Miller 3+ years to develop and it took Dustin Wolf 4+ years to develop into a top NHL goalie. Levi is going on his 3rd full season. So what he had a bad series against Laval the whole team was sleeping.

I'm leaning more toward Benson wanting to flip his goal scoring upside down. He has the vision and IQ so that wont change, but his goal scoring needed to do a 180. Most (if not all) players have some degree of superstitions) so this would be right in that wheelhouse. UPL might want to change his number. I think him putting 1 on it has had the reverse effect.

UPL will be the starter. I dont think Levi will ever be a #1 in the NHL. He isn't big enough. I do like him but them is the facts.
Yes you are correct, #6 is mostly a D man number. Although Ron Ellis , yes Im OLD , wore #6 for the Sewage pit make me laughs aka the leafs , and he was one of the best two way forwards of his time . Another forward from the 70s that wore #6 was Pierre Mondou of the Habs.
Goaltending aka UPL will be much improved this season with the much improved D with the additions of Timmins , Jones( im expecting Bryson to be put on waivers) and Kesselring .
Benson should talk to the Sabres store about paying for all his jersey number changes.

The primary reason the Sabres have been out of the playoffs for over a decade is their goaltending. UPL, Levi and Lyon aren’t changing that.

Sabres 24/25: 29th ranked (4th worst) defense in the entire league. The problem is defense (which should theoretically be better with Lords Timmins and Kesselring)… #1 Start UPL. #2 Ride UPL. Hes young, in his prime he can take it. UPL gets better longer you play him. If he crashes and burns put Lyon in. The #1 problem is defense.
Why bother watching, just Joe shitting on UPL as usual because he can just never be open to UPL rebounding and still actually believes Levi’s the next Ryan Miller. Delusional takes on goaltending as usual from Joe 🤦🏻♂️
