  1. Another old defenseman with little upside. The team has to leave room for a young defenceman to get minutes like Benoit to play Nhl minutes. If he is still available all teams are not interested. Every team is looking for defence but he either wants too much too play 5,6 spot or what he brings is ok offence and ok defence can be found cheaper. I would rather give our prospects an opportunity and make a deadline deal if needed. If the offence falters than we may need help up front. We need to see how the new guys fit in and move out players who are not playing much.

  2. No f^^kin way – another journeyman? – go back to square one – dump Kemph and jan-chock – get another forward – screw this garbage

  3. Foolish to trade any D from the roster except Rielly in that we know what we have. I would wait for at least a month into the season to see the quality of D men this season. It would be a miracle if we can get rid of 44 for a decent forward / center that helps the offence. When we trade Rielly , we automatically cut down the goals against and scoring on our own net from the D especially in the playoffs.

  4. I think the Leafs will stay pat and try to get a good measure of the players on their roster. They should be feeling secure about a playoff spot but their cap space makes doing more than one move difficult. So it makes sense to wait until the season is well underway to assess their needs. Injuries of course are inevitable.

  5. Exactly what the Leafs need a puck moving D man with a great shot and offensive capabilities as always Go Leafs from Timmins 🙂🏒🥅🍁🇨🇦

  6. Benoit is what he is, a hard nosed Dman, who is not going be a offensive weapon (although when he channeled his inner Bobby Orr and made a terrific rush to score in the playoffs he looked damned good) He does not make too many errors, he defends his teamates, and he plays hard, i think he earned his place as a 3rd pairing guy, the way i see it, is it seems like a mistake to replace him for no good reason.Go with what and who you know!

  7. Keep an eye on F Andreas Athanasiou and D Matt Grzelcyk from rumors are linked to leafs and Andreas Athanasiou and Matt Grzelcyk agent is Derren Ferris both don't have contacts this season

  8. 6'2 190 pounds 30 year old C/W Andreas Athanasiou didn’t have good 2 season because of injuries but in 2022-2023 season he had 20 goals ,20 assets, 40 points, 175 SOG, 81 FOW, 44 Blocked shots, 43 hits and 58 takeaways

  9. Andreas athanasiou could be Soild low risk and high reward PTO target that could help in bottom 6 and give cheaper option then David Kampf or Calle Järnkrok

  10. And Andreas Athanasiou just changed agent in 2024-2025 to Derren Ferris and Derren Ferris said that his new client was being talk about alot but Derren Ferris said he has 2 clients that have talks with Leafs gm Brad treliveing over the summer

  11. From trade rumors that leafs have teams showing strong interest in RD Philippe Myers and RD/LD Henry Thrun and from trade rumors that leafs could be open to trade one or both if leafs can get a top 6 forward or something good back

  12. And from rumors before Henry Thrun was trade to leafs that other team was interested from trade rumors was Pens but pens didn't have want sharks wanted but now leafs have Henry Thrun and from Bryan Rust trade rumors Henry Thrun has been in trade rumors as player of interest for Pens if true or not we will see?

  13. LD/RD Matt Grzelcyk had in 2024-25 with pens had 1 goal, 39 assists, 40 points, 95 SoG, 101 blocked shots, 43 hits, 32 takeaways

  14. Matt Grzelcyk is soild low risk and high reward veteran defenseman with Playoff experience who got 4 goals against leafs in 2018-2019 Playoffs with bruins and could be good PTO Target

  15. Send that Ferris wheel somewhere else. All he does is milk the Leafs and leaves them with no options to trade his guys away. Hard Pass.

  16. The leafs need cap space for a top 6 winger, not a depth left D. The fit and money make absolutely no sense here. Not to mention he's attached to Ferris.

That's a hard no from me dawg. If this is real it would be the biggest blunder of the off-season.

  17. signing Grzelcyk assumes they are trading Carlo for a top six forward and would replace Carlo with Grzelcyk

  18. They'll just lose again when reilly fucks up next playoffs. Nothing changes with him in the lineup.

  19. Love Benoit, but this would be an upgrade on an already solid defense core. As for the forwards… Domi on the first line? I am not a fan of his game since he signed with Toronto and believe he played like 2nd line winger at best most likely 3rd. We need a forward far more than added Dman IMO

  20. The Toronto Maple Leafs need to go back to the drawing board if they wanted to add Brett Leason on a PTO as the power forward agreed to one with the Minnesota Wild. From hockeypatrol and from Elliotte Friedman that leafs was in on Brett Leason but he sign a PTO with Wild today and Elliotte Friedman has confirmed that leafs are looking at PTO targets

  21. These are all ridiculous until they clear some bodies out – way too many guys – trade Kampf, Jarnkrok, Robertson, etc and then we can talk other guys

  22. Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Friday that the team has acquired defenseman Gannon Laroque from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for goaltender Carey Price and a fifth-round pick in 2026. From NHL website
