The D is not competent enough
First off FUCK FANDUEL or any app that you betray your home team.
Defense is critical to offense. If you know anything about hockey your offense starts in the defensive zone. The play by the opponent has to be killed and then move the puck up the ice. The first two passes out of your zone are the most important. The Sabres will be much improved. However, the points JJ put up has to be replenished by someone hopefully Quinn can step up this year.
Why let RHS Bernard-Docker go for nothing?? The team will never get better with moves like that

I’d feel better about the defense if they replaced Sammy with a solid defensive d-man. They should’ve bought him out when they had the chance. A $714K cap hit for 10 years is better than paying him $4.29 for the next 5 to watch him ice the puck, turn it over, or watch his teammates get crushed without a response.

D corpse will be much improved this season ! Love the additions of Kesselring and Timmins. Adams and Kekalainen have finally found Power a D partner and a lot of my Sewage pit make me laugh fans ( leafs) say Connor Timmins is very solid and underrated and that they were pissed when he was traded to Pittsburgh.
There should be an interesting battle for for the left side on the 3rd D pair between Samuelsson and Ryan Johnson . Maybe Sammy will be traded soon ??
Has Power fully recovered from his late season injury? Hopefully and I hope he also worked on his upper body strength this summer

The only glaring issue with our Defense is the fact that we have a $4.29M Contract on the the 3rd pair with Samuelsson. Thats a Top 3 Salary, not a Bottom 2.
On top of that, Sammy plays like a Bottom 3 player. We may need to trade him along with a 3rd round Pick to get them to take that Salary, for a Physical bottom pair defenseman with half the Salary that Sammy has.
I’ve said it many times before, based on the already comparable intangibles, if he can find his Grit and his Snarl, Power could easily be compared to Hedman in the next year or two.
I watched every Utah game last year, Kesselring is much better than the numbers indicate.

Hockey Hall of Fame, Mogiliny Update:
I live in Toronto right by the HHOF and I was talking to a manager there about Mogiliny merchandise coming into the HHOF store but he said there is the least for him, and not even a signing be set up, despite everyt other player being inducted will be. And the the reason for this is all the NHL teams having a player inducted are footing a bill for the players time and signings. Buffalo's the only team to not reach out to the HHOF. And Mogiliny said he wasn't showing up without being paid.
