Leaving Flower unprotected in the expansion draft and allowing him to be taken is one of the saddest events during my decades of being a Pens fan. I think that in the long run it helped him in his mental game, as having no team defense in front of him at the end there seemed to be wearing on him, but it was a huge loss for the fandom.
It was great to see him back in the black and gold where he belongs.
