Le président du comté de Maricopa, Thomas Galvin, a a formé un comité consultatif, dirigé par Andrea Doan, épouse de la légende des Coyotes Shane Doan, pour trouver un propriétaire milliardaire et un emplacement d’arène approprié pour une future franchise. Le comité vise à renforcer le soutien de la communauté et à travailler avec la LNH pour démontrer la viabilité de l’Arizona en tant que marché du hockey, bien qu’il n’y ait pas de calendrier fixe pour un retour. Départ des Coyotes de l’Arizona : La franchise originale des Coyotes de l’Arizona a été vendue et transférée à Salt Lake City après la saison 2023-24 de la LNH en raison de problèmes persistants de propriété et du manque d’arène appropriée. This looks promising. Can't wait for the details. Hope they can overcome a 20+ year arena problem. If they can, it would be great to have the Coyotes back in the NHL.
Bring back the Quebec Nordiques. We have the arena, and definitely the market.
The main issue in arizona was bad ownership. if they can get a solid ownership group they can make it work

Watching the final minutes of what was thought to be the Coyotes last game, was really sad. Felt awful for the fans. Fingers crossed they can find a way to make this work. But they MUST come up with a viable arena plan in a suitable location.

Instead building a third valley arena. I know Phx Arena got renovated and the Suns are contracted to stay there for a while. Why not renovate it again like they doing to the Delta Center and which can hopefully accommodate bring back the Coyotes again.
I am visiting my nephews next week(in Phoenix).They miss hockey,having grown up in Buffalo 🦬.
Put the arena in Northwest mesa, south of 202, west of Alma School.
I don’t want to see hockey in Arizona EVER again. If your own states citizens voted against keeping a team in your state over a landfill, you don’t belong having a hockey club. Enjoy your landfill Tempe! Go Detroit Red Wings!
The sad thing is the NHL was the only competent ownership the Coyotes ever had. I know the NHL couldn’t continue owning the Coyotes
The desert is filled with hockey hotbed North Eastern and Midwestern transplants, who attended games with their sons and daughters or their moms and dads back there. There is definitely a hunger for hockey here from both locals and transplants. Good luck!
Losing the Coyotes was not like Minnesota losing the North Stars or Winnipeg or Quebec losing their teams, make Arizona wait a decade like Winnipeg had to and Quebec continues to wait on getting their team back. The special treatment Arizona gets is ridiculous.
The valley of the Sun had no business losing there hockey team. Phoenix was in of very few cities/ markets that had all professional sports besides the MLS.
One thing I'm not clear on. The Coyotes franchise was sold to Utah. But Meruelo was given a 5-year window to reboot. Are those rights transferable? If so, that takes Phoenix out of the wait line, does it not? I'm not opining whether or not they should be in that line, but there is some paper out there with an agreement, signed by the NHL, that bestows rights to a franchise in Arizona by 2029. To determine the status of the "dormant" Coyotes franchise could take a lot of weight off the wagon they would have to pull to get this done…
