  1. lol
The guy is horrible defensively, doesn't for check and has never gone into a hard spot in his life.
Doesn't exactly fit today's Maple Leafs blueprints.

  2. Ever since Marner left I always thought Necas was the perfect replacement. 6'3-6"4, skates well, a natural playmaker. Also has a lot of room for growth in terms of his physical and defensive game, under Berube I think he could do that. He has some playoffs woes, but if we are all being honest anything is an upgrade compared to what Marner provided this team in games 5, 6 and 7 in the playoffs. I don't think we can trade for him with our current assets, but if he pushes Colorado to FA I'd fully expect the Leafs to try trading for his rights and negotiating a deal before FA starts where I expect he'll have a lot more suitors. Furthermore, if you do get a Necas, Cowan than becomes an asset to trade. Rielly had a phenomenal start to the season, we'll see how his season continues if it plateaus looking for a young D man with number one potential like a Bowen Byram can be possible via a Cowan + other assets trade.

  3. This would just put us in the cap disaster that EVERYONE was complaining about in the first place

  4. leafs have cowan to slot into that spot beside matthews..if the leafs think danford is ready they could trade carlo for him..lets face it ..Necas is not as good as you are portraying him

  5. I like the player, but the Leafs don't have the assets. Whatever the Leafs have to give, there will be another team willing to give more.

  6. Necas would be a cancer in the locker room. Didn’t like it in Carolina. Doesn’t like it in Colorado. What makes one think he would like it in TO?

  7. From trade rumors that leafs linked to F Filip Forsberg and C/RW Michael McCarron and C/W Alex Wennberg and D Mario Ferraro and C/W Barclay Goodrow and F Martin Necas and F Bryan Rust and F Rickard Rakell in trade rumors if true or not we will see?

  8. From Leafs PR
The Maple Leafs announced the following additions to its hockey operations department:
Steven Reinprecht and Eric Lacroix have joined the organization as Pro Scouts.

Mikael Kotkaniemi has joined the organization as a European Amateur Scout.

Mark Giordano has joined the Toronto Marlies as a Coaching Advisor.

  9. No Cowan, no Danford, no picks please. Leafs are too old, too slow. Trade one of the old , slow defencemen.

  10. If it comes with a contract it’s ok to trade Cowan, you’re getting a guaranteed point a game player

  11. I don't think the Leafs have enough tradeable assets other than their future stars. Necas numbers are okay but not $11 million , Toronto would be back to core 4 with no room for middle upgrades (even with the cap rising).

  12. If people think Marner was a baby, wait until you get to know this guy. I don't think Treliving is that stupid. He was complaining all the time in Carolina. Even his father was complaining a lot, just like Marner's dad. I wouldn't take Necas for a second rounder. If I was trading Cowan and Danford the only one on Colorado I would take back for them is Makar, and only if he was extended on his deal.

  13. I wouldn't go for this player. Keep our prospects. Tavares gave up a lot of money not to give away the salary cap to someone else to milk.

  14. Martin Necas? So Colorado's Rantanen replacement, second leading scorer, first power play guy from last year. The Leafs are going to give up what to Colorado who has a fairly veteran line-up and is still looking to win?
    Are they trading Nylander?
or McMann, Cowan, MacCabe, and a first
    or someone like Nylander.

  15. Only way to do this is with retention or trading away Morgan Reilly and Robertson in this
