Rangers looked good out there, they outplayed the caps pretty convincingly. Props to lindgren, amazing performance by him, stood on his head

Caps playing the same bend don't break, turtleshell hockey from last season, but showing that they potentially have the best blue line in the league so far, but it's still very early. Trochek being out hurt the rangers a lot

I genuinely cannot be mad about our loss because holy crap was that an amazing game! Both teams looked like they gave their all and Lindgren was an absolute wall. That's what I want to see from a game, and even if we lost it wasn't because the effort wasnt there, it's just that Lindgren was insane

I was really impressed by Gavrikov. He's so much better than Charlie's little brother. Fox could be in the Norris conversation this season because of this upgrade.
Beauvillier looks really good when he plays with Ovechkin and Strome. He's not someone that you think of as a top line winger, but he just seems to be a good linemate for those two guys.
Wilson, on the other hand, looks much better alongside Dubois than he does alongside Strome. The Dubois trade didn't just help rejuvenate Dubois' career, it also helped Wilson break out.
Protas has looked great alongside Strome, Dubois, or even McMichael. It doesn't matter who you put him with, his line will be the Capitals' best line. Protas is probably their best player, not Ovechkin or Strome.
Rangers suck
Same ol’Rangers. Unless Rempe or Cuylle disrupt the defense with their size and grit, the Rangers can unload 100 shots and nothing will get through. You can get to the post season with pass happy perimeter game plan. You cannot get to the Stanley Cup w/o winning the street fights. 🤷♂️

as an islanders/capitals fan i could not have asked for a better outcome for this rangers game i attended with my rangers fan dad. anthony beauvillier was my favorite islander before the trade and is still a player i love to watch

The Capitals really lack a fancy stick-handler. They have most other things covered … but for Ovechkin's entire career he's had someone like Backstrom, Kuznetsov, even Mike Green, who was fancy and good enough at puck control that they could tee up Ovi on the power play (at which he is unquestionably the best in history). This is not rocket science — every team with a big shooter on the PP has the fancy passer next to them … just Ovechkin doesn't have it anymore. Not sure how the Caps resolve this, as it's costing them 20 goals per season at this rate.

If i recall, last game Ryan Lenord's goal was with PP2 but just slightly after the man was out of the box. so one of those PP goals thats not really a PP goal.
Caps blue line and goaltending is going to win them a ton of games but they need to find themselves offensively if they are going to get to the next level

Lindgren with a few save of the year candidates in this one and one of the best tip ins I've ever seen in a game. Man that's awesome. Don't know why I couldn't find the game to watch anywhere though so I tuned into the radio.
Both teams skated extremely well. Lindgren, OV and Beau just put the Caps over the top. No goals for the Rags!

Solid weekend in New York for my Caps. Lindgrin was amazing in this one. He always plays great against New York.
Pleasantly optimistic about my Caps…now if they could just figure out the power play they'd really have something.

Can we talk about how the only NHL game on that day, a game between two US teams, was not available on any streaming service in the US?!? This is media malpractice. The NHL still has no idea how to sell the game to younger fans in the US market.

I’m not that upset at this game rangers handily outplayed caps who are a good team lindgren stole the game although quick was also great very happy with the effort if rangers losses are like this they gonna have a great season
