    So funny to me as a caps fan how dominant we are 5v5 but have one of the worst PP's in the league. It's comical at times. Amazing performance today from the boys. Hope to see Dubois back soon!

    I am glad that Washington gave Chisholm a chance to play against his former team. He's looked good. I think he'll be trusted to be the primary 3RD next season (and play LD on the PK).

    Chychrun is still a liability on defense. Great shooter, great offensive player, but a liability on defense.

    Beauvillier doesn't have the skill of a top line winger, but he's the best fit on the Ovechkin-Strome line (aside from Protas who makes whatever line he's on the Capitals' best line, which makes him the Capitals' best player).

    I love seeing Protas with McMichael. The Protas-McMichael-Wilson line is great. I hope they keep those three together when Dubois returns. They can put Leonard with Dubois – they're good friends off the ice. I suppose the other wing for Dubois would have to be Lapierre or Milano, but I'd love for the Caps to trade one or both of them and call up Cristall to play alongside Dubois and Leonard.

    Lapierre and Milano (and Leonard) looked good, and they're definitely good enough to be top 12 on most teams in the NHL. But I don't think that Lapierre or Milano are among the Capitals top 12 forwards. They should trade both of those guys. They still looked good, but they're both the skill type players that you want in your top 6, they're not the type of guys you want in your bottom 6. Surely a team like Buffalo or Calgary could give up like a third round pick for those two guys, right? Maybe even a second round pick, the same price Buffalo paid for Malenstyn (boy was that a bad trade for Buffalo though).

    I'm happy with the Sourdif trade. He's fast, he's good on defense, and he's the type of guy you want in your bottom 6. He's a great fit for what the Capitals need. They need more speed, and they need a good defensive winger for their bottom 6, and he's a great fit. He doesn't look like he has the offense to ever be a top 6 winger, but I'm happy giving up a 2nd round pick for a young, fast forechecker and solid defender that might replace Dowd as 4C in a couple of seasons.

    The Capitals need to learn from Minnesota how to score on the power play. Calling up Cristall and putting him on the power play would help. But getting the Capitals to move a bit more on the power play would be helpful. Getting Ovechkin and Carlson to move a bit more on the power play would really help. The power play is definitely the Capitals' biggest weakness.

    Give credit to Kaprizov and his agent for for his contract, he is an amazing player and deserving big coin, maybe not 17 m ps, in my opinion.
