Crazy idea. it's a bit out there, but hear me out. Maybe try not taking tons of lazy penalties and actually play with a little bit of discipline?

If a player is playing as bad as you know who did, you have got to bench them for the rest of the game.
Kris how long do you need to wait. Bouchard is at his peak in hockey decisions. He's not thinking and when he make a mistake the puck is in the net. Skinner is not good at one on one. We loose at shoot outs.
I understand you only have 6 defencemen, so you can't just bench Bouchard for the game, but send a message to him and the team by sending him to Bako for a week & bring someone else up. Bouchard is absolute garbage. No, Knoblauch, he IS NOT one of the best defencemen in the NHL.
People have been screaming for Bouchard's being traded for a long time, last night he justified that talk.
It’s the simple fact that Bouchard clearly doesn’t care enough. He coughs up a horrible giveaway (once again, big surprise) and casually skates back, all the while within stick reaching distance, but doesn’t give that 100% effort to get there. Just gives it away and lets the guy score.

lets be for real here, as a Defencemen Evan is one of the worst in the league, as a purely pp quarter back or an offensive D, yeah, he's elite. Every one saw Bouchard get walked in the Finals, so every team does that to him now.

Oilers think they are too good for the regular season, coasting about 80% of the game, showing urgency only when we go down. Playing like that all year will lead to bad habits that we won't be able to correct.
Bouchard doesn’t think the game quick enough. A slow game and he’s fine but a fast game he can’t keep up

Kinda hard to believe that a modern coach who handles the multimillionaire with respect will demand accountability. It’s one thing to say the play is unacceptable. The real question is what are the consequences for a player with a documented history of mind blowing turnovers & and apparent lack of recovery effort. You could say Bouchard cost his team both of their losses — by doing nothing whatsoever prior to the 3rd Calgary goal; and by giving up a breakaway in the Islanders game. That’s 3 listings points very early in the season. Get my point? At this rate the list points will cost the Club dearly in the standings by the end of season.
