Gave you a sub to help you get to monetization. Its criminal that youre putting out videos of this quality and not getting paid yet. You've got over 50k views on only 2 videos. Good luck my guy!
Thanks for the video, I grew upw est of red deer half way between and glad I picked the Oilers. In the 90s Id cut thhe cards on the back of macaroni and cereal boxes. I have Billy ranford on my door. Blue was a better colour lol I nearly became a vancouver fan I loved Pavel Bure swoons but Ive stayed loyal to the Oil. In 2006 riggt before game 7 I got my 2nd kitty and named him Stanley (RIP). The dark years were hard.. we wanted to rally hard behind our boys..but I remeber exactly where I was when we picked 1st/mcdavid.. the hype was so big..he truly was our saviour. After so long it felt.like nothing couls turn this ship around. McDavid is absolutely unreal of a player. These are the good years boys and girls, no matter the lows of a season these are the ups of the decade and need to remember how hard it was to get here. With that said, McJesus will pass the cup to Nuge when they win it,😊💙🧡💙🧡💙
Kevin Lowe and the old boys clubs should be embarrassed. The decade of darkness will for ever been known as the worst managment group in hockey!
3:35 he was cheating on his wife
Oilers team is too good to be denied now
Pronger knocked up a chick… That's why his wife wanted out
Pittsburgh legend
not bad man , good edit
you make great videos can you please do one of the Decline of the Vancouver Canucks from the 94 or 2011 till now or just the history of the franchise!
My first daughter was born 9 months after the cup run….weird coincidence eh?!
They lost because they took out ROLLY THE GOALIE . The back up just couldn’t make the saves.
That 08/09 off season was tough. Bison sky was solid but injuries and him not wanting to stay made that trade a bust. The oilers lost the other trades badly but the Torres trade may have been due to off ice issues
Decade of darkness was a direct result of the old boys' club terrorizing the team.
What made this hard for was watching teams like LA and Chicago win cups even though they were not getting first overall picks all the time.
The 2011 2010 draft pick for the first overall from the Oilers I heard the interview was so bad that the interview almost f**** knocked him out like I heard he was very unpleasant if I knew that like they did I would have just traded the first overall for a high-end player who's Young and let the team draft him without knowing😂😂😂😂 I swear that kid was the reason they went to that decade of darkness
Zero doubt in my mind that the Oilers win in 06 with a healthy Roli, no one will ever convince me otherwise.
Ebs first career goal is the nicest first goal in league history.
As fair as it is to critique the Yak pick, that draft may go down as the weakest in history. The top 4 picks combined for only 1486 games and 664 points, and Galchenyuk accounts for the bulk of both of those totals…
GONNA BE MORE FAILURE AHEAD !!! TEAM is NOT READY to COMPETE !!! WAH WAAAH WAAAAAAAAH GET USED TO IT OILER FANS !!! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN REFS LET the PLAYERS DECIDE the GAME !!! GAME 1 , REFS DECIDED the GAME !!! BIG BIG BIG DIFFERENCE !!! ADIOS OILERS💩💩💩
Just like a secret base video. Great job
In short:
The Oilers drafted badly during the 1980s & 1990s. Gretzky got traded to Los Angeles, their old core players got old and/or left the team or were traded away and the team didn't get much in return. That's why the Oilers dynasty faded away and has since been elusive.
Sign Nail Yakupov and hire Moma2 , capitulate or the remediation shall continue.
Looking back on this, i realize how quickly this organization gave up on people and shipped them out.
Pronger screwed them.
Great video. I see a lot of similarities with the Buffalo Sabres playoff drought. The bottom line is you can’t buy your way out of it and have to consistently develop. Even with McDavid’s arrival, Edmonton still had to grow into a winning team that could play two way hockey.
Looks like back to back Finals losses upcoming for Mcdavid.
Oilers fans got 4 firsts in 6 years and still claim the league is against them
(…And then failed into another decade of darkness).
Oilers fan from Chicago. These are the teams I grew up with. Stuck it out. Don’t miss this era one bit but am happy to hear some of the names again.
Make a hand video on the Carey price era
All that just to lose to the panthers twice 😂😂😂
I'd suggest a canucks video next but that would just be the franchise history LMFAO
but seriously the flames mid 90s collapse, they went 1 season from 84-94 below .500 and won a stanley cup in 88-89, but they had only 1 season above .500 from 94-2003 before they went on to win the stanley cup in 2004
also side note cause i didn't wanna make it a separate comment, your content is incredible, i love these long form videos on hockey franchise history and can't wait to see what other hockey history you present for us in the future!
Could u do a video on the Avs soon. In 2017 dead last 2022 Stanley Cup Championships
I'm typically a diehard Flames fan, but for some reason I really, really wanted them to win last night and get to a seventh game; if for no other reason than McDavid really deserves to have his name on the Cup. It has me wondering if he will stay in Edmonton; two consecutive losses.
"But fuck the Flames"
Man, why are we out here catching strays lol
Oilers went through too much overall number one draft picks and unfair over everyone else who is more deserving than Edmonton
Stop with this Connor is the greatest Jesus Savior shit he is not but he is really good
Oh it’s not over we are currently only in the eye of the storm
It's been over 3 decades since Edmonton had a Stanley cup lol.
Yakapov was a clear mistake at the time. Really set them back.
But frankly, I dont see how McDavid is their "savior McJesus" when hes been around near 10 years and has just lost two Cup Finals in a row.
No excuses. If he was truly the best, he'd have had more impact in those series'.
“How the Oilers Found McDavid”
Answer- They literally failed their way to a lottery pick that happened to give him to them
and yet we still have an oilers team that has remained cupless since 1990 and mcjesus could go down as the best player to never win. Edmonton is still cursed.
This is for the owner of this channel. KNOCK KNOCK!
"Then Found McDavid," who can't win a Stanley Cup 2 years in the Finals. Shame on you for "McJesus!"
Just subbed
Didn’t Ben Oakley already do a series this a while ago and called it the same thing?
did bro just copy ben oakleys video series 😭
