Be realistic the NHL will never let the Flames pick 1st over all the Oilers run the NHL and they will never allow. Why do you think when the Oilers need a fix they end up with top 3 all the time.

There’s no guarantee last place get you the 1st overall pick bc look at the islanders they jumped 10 spots to get the 1st pick they finished 22nd
Players leave Calgary for a reason and that team is just a holding spot for players before they go on to better pastures it’s the same thing with the sharks ducks preds and Montreal good players weren’t able to get in better teams so they have to suffer on garbage teams
