  1. This is a media that is sooooo desperate for Pettersen to return to the days of old, y'all won't just admit that he's a 15 goal scorer. Just can't do it. But he is

  2. So far the opposition has been the bottom feeders in the league, what's coming will be an eye opener.

  3. There is only one Avenue. Blow it up starting with Hughes and Demko, followed by a management team that knows how to draft

  4. one win against CBJ would have them tied for most wins in PAC even if VGK wins tonight. Hopefully ANA actually drops a game in DAL. Right now SEA 6-7, LAK 6-8, EDM 6-9, SJ 5-9, CGY 4-11. These other teams have a few extra points due to losing in extra time. But right now you cannot be scared about the division, everyone is lagging. I get that we are ahead in games played, but with all the injuries, having 8 wins and 16 points and being right in the thick of it… not bad. Petey 70 points this year, I mean lets just see. Any and all playoff teams ever have had to get on a hot streak at some point to fuel the chase. Lets see if they can do it thru Nov and Dec before writing it all off.

  5. Painful to watch EP40 trying to pass when he’s in a position to shoot. People are now resigned to talking about how good he is on the rest of his game. Pretty much giving up on expectations of what he’s being paid to do…drive a line and generate offense. Just shoot the damn puck.

  6. Vancouver has a Quinn Problem – NDJ no reason to trade for Huggy – every other team knows Quinn won’t sign past this season – so the return is going to be garbage

  7. You guys are complete monke**. The team is full of 3rd – 4th liners, including Garland and Sherwood (and most others) except EP40 and Hughes.
You have to play EP40 21-23 min per game. What was no fun was watching Canucks under Tocchet and a deflated bad attitude Miller.

  8. Extending EP40's contract was a mistake, period. It was the management who kept pressuring him to sign. He wasn't in a hurry to sign and management thought because he just wanted more money. May be he really wanted to leave hockey cuz he knew he was already clearly in decline. Yeah it sounds crazy, but it was obvious he was no longer the EP40 who joined the Canucks a couple of years ago. And then Canucks chose to keep the wrong guy. You're stuck, Canucks. And Quinn for sure is leaving Elias for good.

  9. Ep40 downfall started when he started to care about social media and what people were saying about him and self medicating with weed and eatables to deal with the stress

  10. Canucks lacking depth is showing, what happens when you give up draft choices for mediocrity!

  11. I hate to say it but the only way Petey could be moved is if you package him with Hughes or Demko and eat a chunk of the salary. I would rather rip the band aid off and move top players now. The value on Hughes is that he has some term on his contract and same with Demko. If the Canucks wait, then suddenly Hughes is a one year player and won’t return enough value. I love Hughes but he isn’t coming back.

  12. Of course he's playing smart … he got his huge contract and is being smart not to destroy his body just for the sake of playing hockey in Canada…duh He's a paperweight. Funny how 2 years ago these same guys were talking about what geniuses Alvin and Rutherford were and how they were poised to be a contender for many years with the core group they had …. gee guys … what happened? Oh ya, they sold the farm to keep a slow moving, weak, swede for waaaay toooo much money.

  13. You can hang that entire loss around the neck of 2 guys, Tyler Myers and Kevin Lankinen. Myers has been an absolute disaster this year, brutal giveaways, skating the puck thru the neutral zone and trying everything to generate offense WHILE PAIRED WITH HUGHES. DUDE, GIVE QUINN THE PUCK, STAY BACK, AND TAKE UP SPACE, ITS NOT THAT COMPLICATED. Lankinen's rebound control has always been a problem, but it's been brutal this year. He NEEDS to get that sorted.

  14. Petey once again was a total NO SHOW. Allvin should be fired for signing this contract. This player wasn't playing worth crap before they offered him huge money. They should've traded him which would mean we would still have a good center by the name of JT Miller.

  15. The only thing left to do is a rebuild. First, try to get rid of EP40. Second, tank and try to get mckenna.

  16. You really can't blame EP40 for not wanting to admit his knee is still not 100%. Because he knows(inspite if you say we won't) blame him for making excuses. Look what happened to Mark Messier when he said he had tendinitis in his elbow. Don Taylor told everyone on television, "Just shut up Mark Messier!".

  17. Lankinen has been atrocious to start. He was clearly playing for a contract last year, but yeesh, is that it? Off to easily his career worst season.
The focus is of course Pettersson, but he's sheltering some other forwards from criticism for sure. The Reichel pickup, for example. Why bother? He's not bringing much to the table.
Bains… Buddy… Karlsson… The calder guys were better than this.
Debrusk… Not doing a heckuva lot.
Sherwood playing for a contract now, thinks he's Bobby Hull, but is missing defensive assignments.
Kane's out there taking pims and whatever, at least he can stay in the lineup.
It's pretty clear that this season is a check-out season, but that's what last season was, and two seasons before that, etc. There's only been one half-decent season put together by this group.
Will the Canucks be ok when they're healthy? It won't make much of a difference.
Trade Hughes for a bounty? Lol. Maybe if it weren't the Canucks. These guys typically trade big assets away for nothing.

  18. I'm getting long in the tooth, and obviously I want to see a Stanley Cup team in Vancouver. Having said that, I'm all for a rebuild, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal and on and on didn't get franchise players or well above average players by using a bandaid and giving up first and second round picks just to squeeze into the playoffs is pointless imo.

  19. They will play just well enough to miss the playoffs and get a crappy draft pick, if they have not yet traded it away.
