They can't score for shit. They can't score the first goal of the game for shit. And when they play well like they did last year in the playoffs, the refs screw it up. So, no matter what, they can't win. It's that simple. Margin or not, it doesn't matter. Hyman? They need 1000 Hymans. And a 7 foot 2, 300 pound goalie. It's that bad! If the goalie is not obese, forget it.
You don't see the Oilers trading for a goalie right now? Well, they had all summer, Patrick. All f-summer. And they still didn't do shit. Leadership is a mess if you ask me. That's the biggest thing missing.

What an absolutely pathetic game. A 9–1 loss on home ice? That wasn’t hockey…that was a full-on meltdown (caused by an Avalanche of goals). The Avalanche didn’t just beat the Oilers, they embarrassed them in their own building.

Maybe the talent is overrated. Sure looked like it. Total team effort. Colorado could have had at least three more goals. Landeskog had his goal called back on an offside. Pickard and Skinner actually did make some good saves. If not for that the score could have been 14-1.

This game has to be the Line in the sand moment. Colorado ran circles around the Oilers. No cohesion. No passion, No grit, goaltending and defence from the whole team.
Its crazy how we missed out on so many good goalies. Or didnt go possibly go after the right ones. Spencer knight, Wedgewood, Shilov, Vladar etc etc.
All these goalies and many more are doing well changing teams in the last 3 years and we didnt get any of them.
AVS looked like a well oiled machine. Oil looked liked they were coming back and Baker Bouchard decided to make a turnover for an AVS shortie. Skinner and Picard were hung out to dry again . Total team loss and failure. Heard commentators says this version is not as good as last years team. If this trend continue we will get a shot at the first overall pick . Saw this coming last week when I saw the AVS playing on HNIC. Conner was playing but too many passengers. Good thing the AVS pp was useless or they would have a 16 goal night

This team absolutely needs a better starting goaltender. That isn't up for debate, and hasn't been for some time now.
That being said, they will not be able to 'trade their way out' of this mess as a team. The goaltending, is a must. Dealing out guys for other guys just for the sake of "shaking things up", will not solve the rot at the core of this team.
They looked like they'd accepted losing, before the puck was even dropped tonight. Like they just don't care.
When I see a team play like that, the first impression that comes to mind is, the coach has lost the room. I'm thinking Knoblauch does not finish the season with this team.
I like Skinner and Pickard as people. They are nice guys. Good with the community. All that jazz.

This team is in for some changes, because this isn't just a "slow start" anymore. It's spinning tires, just under 3 weeks out from American thanksgiving. The measuring stick for the playoffs.
