The biggest thing of all is 95% of the team lacks a scoring finish.
Montreal’s roster is literally no better than ours look at where they are and look at where we are. Play to your goddamn standards already and stop making excuses.
This team needs a top notch center
Same old Red Wings.
Great game guys. The future looks bright.
This team is just incapable of finding a way to dig in at the level they need too. losing culture, worse era of the Red Wings. Zero faith in the fan base and no end in sight.
"That 2nd unit probably had more legitimate opportunities than the 1st unit. And they don't get a lot of time. Maybe they need more."
This clown. He literally gave the 2nd unit 1:15 on the FIRST POWER PLAY OF THE GAME. Then on the 4 minute power play he pulled the top unit off after a minute or so after they'd just had a grade A chance from Kane to Cat and had some rhythm. This is the worst coach in the league. No wonder he's never won anything. Hope Kane asks for a trade before this imbecile does any more harm to his year.
Time to question the Yzerplan
Embarrassing, I might be done watching for awhile
We will never know how great this season might have turned out if this horrible horrible coach hadn't started Emmitt Finnie first in that overtime vs Tampa Bay, 5th game of the season. He did it to disrespect Kane and pump up Emmitt Finnie who he loves. It resulted directly in Kane being injured. Indirectly down the road it led to Hamonic replacing Docker in the lineup. It led to Kasper failing as a 2C. It led to extra pressure on Finnie as he was absurdly promoted to top power play and crumbled. It led to the power play breaking, apparently permanently (4 power play goals in 5 games at the time Kane was hurt, all by the top unit).
All for what? All so Todd McLellan could stick it to Kane one more time. Embarrass him one more time. Put him in his place one more time. Disrespect him and mess with his career one more time. Well, congrats Todd, you did it. You screwed things up for Kane really good. How's it going for you?
Kinda crazy how everything us "non fans" say keeps coming true isn't it.
Raymond has lost a step. Not seeing 8 million a season. Finnie outplays Raymond every game. Edvinson has been horrible
Gibson=4 goals. Sooner or later they'll realize they need to bring cossa up. It'll be later.
This Team needs to make a big trade and get rid of the dead weight.
This team has no pulse when they’re losing. Ever since that St Louis comeback they look like they’ve lost a loved one when the other team scores. And even that game McClellan had to chew them out midgame
I always try to stay positive with this team… but this game, and week as a whole, really has me feeling pretty pessimistic about the rest of the season.
Detroit looked like a Special Olympics team. Gibson needs traded and coach fired. 🤦🏻
Last 3 games, 103 shots, 2 goals, (0-3). Please put the puck in the net.
Hey Todd the "team that can't shoot straight" might need to stop worrying about "systems" and spend some extra practice time just shooting the da*n puck
Am I crazy to think they haven’t won a game in the centennial jerseys? They’re starting to look like last year’s team again
Like last 2 seasons its slump time then they’ll cry about not making playoffs something or someone has to go they got no grit afraid to get in front of the net
compher as 2c has literally never worked. cut it out.
GIBSON CANT SCORE YOU IDIOTS
This is a test for this team. The thing they haven't been able to avoid the past two seasons are these "death spirals" where they lose like 8 of 9 and put themselves in bad holes. 3 straight losses…. we'll see if they can stop this before it turns into another in a long list of long losing streaks. I don't know what it is but this rebuild of young players is MASSIVELY inconsistent. That's something I would not have guessed would be a problem form Yzerman drafted players. It does seem like the team he's built is mentally fragile. It's hard to believe.
Good PP? The Black Hawks played you short-handed as if they weren't at all.
embarrassing
Former Red Wings player Tyler Bertuzzi on a rebuilding Chicago team has 9 goals… That ties the amount of goals combined between Ras, Elmer, Compher, Copp, JVR and Bergs… That's just embarrassing boys
I'm so tired of hearing that its "Not good enough." Then DO something about it. Start on time, win loose pucks, play with urgency. This is not something coach should have to say every game to get you fired up. You're getting paid boatloads of money to do this. Write it on a sticky note, put it in your locker, and then DO it.
Tonight it just felt like there was so much bad passing and bad puck handling. Slow and sloppy
