So PHI officially passes the "Does it suck?" mantle to CAR!… 😃…I don't think the records say anything conclusive about this season so far. CAR is a case in point. This is a schizophrenic team that yes, is dead last in power play goals, but has a goal differential of +13. I don't know about the rest of you, but to me this is wholly unsustainable. They are either going to go parabolic or go substrate. My bet at the beginning of the season was the latter, and I'm sticking to it…I also thought that the Pacific would be atrocious this year, and that same metric – goal differential – is proving my thesis out. ANA is +13. VGK is +5. Everybody else is negative! Similar trend in the Central, but not as bad. In the Atlantic, with the exception of Montreal, all teams are within 5 of the median. In the Metro, everybody is at or over the median – with the predictable exception of the Isles…The problem with chasing records is this. Water, metaphysically speaking, seeks its own level. Somebody's gotta win, somebody's gotta lose. However. Not everybody has to perform well. And you see this on display when you dig into the stats…And yes, this hole is getting deep for the Blues. -18…

The Avs are looking scary this year. I would NOT want my team to face them in ANY round of the playoffs. There's hardly any weak spot on that entire roster (except in OT 😂)
They have lots of experience, veteran presence, championship pedigree, mountains of skill, waves upon waves of offense, great agility, speed at every position, solid goaltending, suffocating D, offensive-minded D, good special teams, balanced scoring across all their lines, great forechecking, high IQ, amazing coaching staff with a history of winning, commitment & dedication to the system, etc, all of it! Look out for the 2026 champions!!
