Ducks 11 and 3 first in the Pacific, Oilers 6 and 6 2nd last in the Pacific. Big surprise (sarcasm). Ducks were smart enough to get Jay Woodcroft back behind the bench. We should have teamed up Woody and Knobs. Would have been a terrific Batman and Robin coaching juggernaut. Massive missed opportunity by Oilers management with that one.
Players are brothers and will defend each other at all times to the end. They will never blame or point fingers at their brother goalies or any position. When teams fall apart this badly it's because the coach has lost the room. I can tell you definitively there is some suppressed blame by every player who played in the 2 SCF and is still on the team toward Knobs getting out coached when it mattered. Players are listening and looking at Knobs with 1 ear closed and 1 eye open judging every decision he makes now. When players go from listening to judging that's when the collective is in trouble. When players start falling into that mind set the room, the strategy – all that becomes toxic. At that point the GM steps in and regrettably, no matter how much he personally likes the coach, has to let him go. In short, KK's job is absolutely on the line regardless of his extension. It won't take much, just a few more hiccups that force the team into last place of their division and the Kris Knoblauch era will be over. Kris is one of the nicest coaches in the NHL, but so was Woody.
Leon is a big guy he could be more noticable physically. I'm not saying fight anyone, but I recall a time in his career where he was a brick wall, and would throw nasty reverse hits.
Chris, I think you are the only one that has a blender on the bench. I have never seen anybody switched players up as much as you do and that is ridiculous. There is no chemistry because the guys don’t have a chance to form chemistry and leave the young guys on the bench is stupid. They’re not the ones that causing you to lose you have no problem setting them. It’s the big boys that need to sit and watch that constantly screw up.
All us fans are a little disappointed at that loss.. (Stan) shoulda coulda but did nothing or (Stan) made a big splash and now they have responded and look like a Stanley cup contender. Is this what our captain did for the franchise? a big time life decision for this team?
He resembles Mcdavid so much as far as his demeanor, how he carries himself, and tone etc. I can definitely see how mcdavid clicks with him and wanted him as the new coach. He reminds me a lot of mcdavid if you compare interviews.
Great questions by RR. Coach…"maybe we need to be a little more direct, a little more forceful, a little more accountability". Wonderful, finally after 16 games "maybe a little more" coaching will be performed. Yes, it's up to the players to perform on ice. They have certainly underperformed. However, the coach has also underperformed in his duties. The coach is responsible for the following:
To correct structural mistakes that have led to goals against. I have seen the same mistakes continually made. Now, to be fair, I don't know if the players are just not listening to the coaching directions or not, but it seems to me like they are not getting STRONG coaching. It seems the coach has left it very loose for the players to resolve/correct it themselves.
The steps taken to keep the players accountable for their lack of performance is the responsibility of the coach. NO strong actions taken yet.
Seems like the coach is worried about hurting the players feelings just because they reached the Finals 2X.

prediction: KNOB will be fired before 2026 new year; Oilers will end up dead last pacific; the pacific division will be between Ducks vs VGK ;
It’s a top management problem. Top management built this group. It’s not working because of decisions top management made months ago
No Perry, No Kane…..or simply no heart?
How dare this guy talk about accountability. He’s never made anyone that needs it eat it.
The players need clarity. That’s not a good sign tells me the players have no clue what to do. Maybe thats because knobs keeps blending the dam lines.
Fire and brimstone never worked for me at church but maybe it’s the answer for hockey 😂
It's not the coaches fault it's not 97's fault ITS A TEAM GAME ….
THE TEAM GOTTA PLAY LIKE A TEAM 💪🏾
Instead of burying the youngsters…why not coach them to be better…to succeed…to build trade capital…smh

Soft man and can’t keep lines together
does this group actually get another coach fired or do players show up and get out this and move on in positive way i hope so

Monotone personality. Need some spark. And Bouchard singing, the joke of the league.

Goaltending IS the biggest issue, its demoralizing for the team when he lets in so many goals. That's why defence and offence is so bad.
