Not bench-clearing brawls, but rather the jerseys. It really looks great with both teams boldly showing off their main colors. Let the Red Wings be red and the Blueshirts be blue!
Normally, the league requires one team to wear a primarily white jersey with their team color as just the trim color (though they made an exception for this game so that both teams could wear their special centennial jerseys). And I understand that in some cases this rule is necessary. I wouldn't want to see both teams wearing dark colors when the Rangers play against Toronto or Columbus or St. Louis, just as Detroit couldn't make this work against Carolina or New Jersey. But the normal requirement that one team must always wear white, even when their dark colors are different, is a relic of the days of black-and-white television. It is a solution to a problem which hasn't existed for decades.

Rangers are 1-7-1 at home and have scored 13 goals so far at MSG, 11 of which game in two games. Maybe worry a tad more about playing a lot better in your own barn instead of some just-after-the-buzzer empty-netter?
And give me a break, that “brawl” was about as intense as the many fake ones in MLB, where players all look for someone on the opposing team that they know so that they can pretend-grapple for a few minutes.
