I've never seen a team and their top players give up in a elimination game 6 in the Stanley Cup finals. Even if they did put together a better team with good goaltending and stay healthy they don't have the mentality to win, they will self destruct and give up on the ice. Go back and watch that game, draisital coasting to the bench over and over again, players slamming sticks, yelling at refs angry while losing focus and missing offensive break ins or chances to make a defensive play because of it. That's by far the biggest issue

I cant say how Armstrong thinks at Blues, but if he has claimed ‘everybody are out there’ as trading potential, Binnington is probably closer to a trade than Saros. Saros is on 7.7M aav for 7 more years, a no trade contract. Our goaltending team are dominated by Finns, with Rinne as the boss. Saros clearly likes it here. Besides, Barry has gambled and failed miserably. We only have one option left now, and that is a full rebuild, or even a complete tear-down. That implies Barry needs to shop high picks and prospects, young players. Bowman has absolutely nothing of interest to offer, in addition to that he is up against the cap. Unless a 3.team with picks and prospects is involved I really cant see how a deal can take place.

Nobody ever talked about podkolzin being in top 6 and scoring like no goals. Lol. But I appreciate that Fredrick is getting pointed out. He was always overrated I think. Oilers seem to pick up 3rd 4th liners and put them in top 6 and wonder why they don't produce.

Sure they're not playing as well as we all expect or had hoped but it's not that dire yet boys, let's pump the brakes here a bit. Skinner always gets the focus, but c'mon guys most goalies in the league would have the same results when they're left hangin by the front 5 and some of the missed assignments and bonehead plays they make. They can be better, NO DOUBT, as a WHOLE TEAM they need to be better, but let's not get carried away with things just yet. We can all come back to this and March and see how it aged lol

Its puzzling the Oil are performing the way they are. Clear lack of urgency from the players, outside of McD, Drai, RNH, maybe couple more at most. Edm, like 4 or 5 other teams in the Conf, is about 5 pts from being in a serious jamb to qualify for playoffs. The Oil ought not to be in that position, imo, but surely are. The compressed sched only makes 'making up ground' in the standings more difficult.
Where is the debate? It's obvious Oilers are not doing well this season. I agree that goaltending and defence are their main problems. At this point I don't see them in the Stanley Cup finals again. And watching Florida beat Canucks the other night, they sure look like they could be headed for a 3rd Stanley Cup. Oilers don't look like a team who can beat them at all.
