  1. It’s crazy when a star wins the game with a beautiful goal. Toronto media will still focus on complaining. Teams not perfect but come on now

  2. How can Willie “kill u tonight” but win u the game simultaneously? Cmon Bunkis

  3. Willie is a punching bag. He scores one of the highlight goals of the year in OT and you guys talk about his lack of defensive play. Really? Hello…He's a leader in points in the league and thats why he's paid 11.5…the real problem is the rest of the stiffs on the team who don't earn their pay. Why am I right? Because when Auston plays a thoughtful earnest 200ft game but gets few points he gets raked over the coals for not producing and rightly so. Frankly, Im sick of all this media pant loading. STFU. Scorers are paid to score, role players are paid to role, dee-men dee, and goalies goaltend. Period.

  4. Sammy is so right haha. Willy hears coach yelling DEFENCE and he sees a bunch of players with 0 goals and he’s like how bout we score hahah

  5. These two are unreal. Here the leafs are missing seven players and still win, and these two are sitting here whining and pi**ing all over the team. Go F yourself!

  6. I’ve been defending Nylander for over a decade. He’s been my favourite player since he was drafted and Ive loved his skill and swagger. Last season and especially this one I’ve grown tired of the not caring, no heart bull sht. If he played like he was in Sweden every game he could be McDavid level good. Maybe he can start playing with his shirt off. I’m shocked he wore a suit post game.

  7. God, I used to love this show… but you guys have been dogshit recently. Just smug bs with zero analysis, the hottest takes…

  8. Can't we just enjoy a win, even for a little while? You guys are something else sometimes. was a character win, a win is a win, they've been rare lately. I get that we have to keep expectations in check, but u guys are talking like they lost 5-1.

  9. Sammy and JD are both right. Leafs fans are well aware of Nylander's defensive flaws and many of us are sick of it. It's not the primary reason for why the Leafs are losing. But, it definitely doesn't help. When our secondary players come to the team and see one of their supposed leaders playing so reckless and turning the puck over and cheating and always looking for breakaways… it doesn't set the right example.

  10. Go work collecting garbage Bunkis, you have such a bandwaggon attitude when it comes to Nylander. Go learn about sports and hockey in general. Just get a different "job"!

  11. Joshua got his big payday for a fringe player! He worked like a daag to get that contract and got noticed by many in league and afterwards has not lived up to it!! Of course her comes Leafs to take that problem and mistake signing realized after by Vancouver management that they had to rid themselves of said contract. In comes Treliving to waste a third of the MONEY NOT SPENT ON MARNEL!!! Great job treliving!!!

  12. These guys love Kucherov from Tampa and he is terrible defensively most of the time too.

  13. JD is 100% spot on with the Nylander stuff. Willy’s a veteran leader on this team and if he’s not doing what the coach says then why should the new guys, or the younger guys, or any of the guys? Yes his individual stats are great but some nights it seems like that’s all he cares about and he doesn’t actually care about the team winning, as long as he gets his cookies. Happy the coach isn’t putting up with it honestly

  14. I thought the Leafs dont have their 1st round draft pick in 2026. Am I missing something? Or this never-ending sarcasm?

  15. Bunkis accuses Sam of using a straw-man argument (which he was not) … and then proceeds to counter with a straw-man argument!! haha .. What an ass!!

  16. For a guy who scores in NHL you would think we would see more of those types of goals from Nylander. That goal with the slick move in front for the OT winner. That should be a standard move we see in the NHL and we don't.
I see that play in low level hockey all the time man but you hardly ever in the NHL . NHL is pretty vanilla not just the Leafs. Teams want their guys to be more defensive and it's not good for the game at all. Plus these guys play too much and the schedule is not realistic in my opinion.

  17. I only got to watch the 3rd and OT, but Stetcher looked like OEL light and the 2nd best dman out there. Making some good plays in his own end to get the puck back and mov8ng up the ice. Both things the leafs couldn’t figure out this year

Otherwise, I’m smelling only Nonis era leafs stink on this GM/coach tandem. Can’t trade, don’t understand the current league and the coaching is just behind in every way imaginable while unable to understand the team he has.

  18. The coach can’t just be yelling at Willy because he’s a high earner. It’s a team sport. Distribute the blame and rouse everyone to play better.

  19. JD fishing for compliments on predicting the Nylander winner anybody whose watched the Leafs over the last decade also predicted lol

  20. Here's what I know. This team is struggling to beat teams that are considered bad. The Blue are 30th in the league. Looking at the teams they've lost to… Detroit (6th), Seattle (14th), New Jersey (3rd), Colombus (20th), Bruins (13th), Carolina (2), Kings(12th), Chicago (9th).

    Teams they've beat… Montreal (15), Nashville (31), NYR (21), Buffalo (29), Calgary (32), Penguins (8), Utah (16), Blues (30).

The trend I am seeing is, this team is unable to compete against teams in the top 10. They have 4 losses to top 10 teams at this moment and 1 win against a top 10 team (and it's Chicago, which you could debate that they're not top ten and just having a good start)

The following weeks will be interesting. They will be playing Dallas, New Jersey, Detroit, Carolina, Winnipeg, Colorado, Vegas,… this team… will likely get a wildcard spot… if it makes the playoffs and at this point I'm not even sure they can.

Struggling and winning in OT against teams like the Blues, Kings, Buffalo and the Rangers doesn't bode well… I guess only time will tell.

  21. Homer leaf fans need to watch Colorado games for awhile and see how Mackinnon plays. Guy competes, willy wants his points, set the tone with good hockey habits. Good players are going to score, being a good stats/bad team scenario is not ideal. He's been terrible defensively since he got here.

  22. Great pod bois! Great to see the bois get back in the win column. But Nah JD Sammy is right on this one. While I get your point, Willy is making 11.5 he needs to play a better well rounded game, the guy is lapping everyone else below him in terms of offensive production. Sammy is right, it’s a little comical, he becomes a punching bag when he seems to be the only player on the team that has juice offensively, I mean think about it, if Joshua and or domi and maccelli all had like 3-5 goals a piece and were on pace for 15-20 a piece, the leafs record would be much different rn, we’ll say at least 3-5 less losses than the amount they have now. The rest of the team is who I’m concerned with not Willy styles with his 27 points in 18 games

  23. The big game will be Saturday night in Montreal against one of the top teams. The speed by the two guys inserted was good but it's a bottom team in St.Louis.
