Perhaps they should give Bains and Karlsson the same kinds of linemates as Cootes if they want to see what they can do to fill Hogs role

Whether he is ready for the NHL or not, you can tell Cootes wants a NHL spot badly. Give him 9 games and see how he goes. I would put him on the 4th line!
If they decide to give him the 9 games, there is zero sense to bury him on a 4th line with no real talent – rather, put him in a place to succeed with good players and see what he can really do…it’s only 9 games so it’s not that big of a risk, in fact, and if I were a betting man, which I’m not, but if I were, I’d bet he succeeds and produces points and opportunities

Aman should go back to the AHL. Why keep him if ratÿ is our 3th center, and sasson is faster and more offensively capable
Rushing the kid will be a mistake. He needs to mature physically before he can make a consistent impact in the line-up!
Lekkerimaki is not just scoring and shooting more, he is also forcheckinf harder, going after pucks faster, and looks 1 step ahead of others recently
Lekkerimaki will play 2nd line with chytil and kane. Then we can have a 3rd line with sherwood and garland on the wing. Spread out the offence to wear down teams
Gilbert Brule comes to my mind when listening about Cootes 😊 Ruined too soon by McLean and Columbus
If Bains left on waivers. Good luck to him. Maybe he would have a better shot at NHL elsewhere.
For Gods sakes… can this team FINALLY let their prospects develop properly… he’s a fantastic prospect but don’t screw up his development for short term gains🤦🏻♂️
Having said that… Cootes has a special quality that deserves to be explored a few games… that rule should changed to 15-20 games👌Maybe like a exceptional 18 year old thing🤷🏻♂️Not Calder… but a precursor

The upside is that Cootes could challenge for the Calder if you give him a full season(it's possible), but the downside is that if he flames out maybe after 10-15 games in, then you've probably lost some other young player who was claimed on waivers and Cootes may have gotten rattled from his demotion. I think the safe play is to have Cootes go develop his game and definitely his strength in the minors so he can become a dominant two-way centre maybe next season…
cootsey could be big star in his rookie year > just like ep40's rookie season (an 18 yr. old hot shot who hit the ground running ,& got all the support & power play time), they should just throw him out there see what happens, if he gets on a run immediately then just go with that & never look back! he might end up going to the all-star game, & scoring (nearly) a pt./game in 82 games …(if he can't amass at least 6 pts in first 9 games, then send him down to seattle thunderbirds for rest of year
