  1. Shannon, idk if you'll see this but I'd love for you to make a video talking about the race for team Canada among young players. I'm a huge Wyatt Johnston fan and I feel like he's being underrepresented in the conversation. He's one of the top Canadian forwards in ice time, he plays PK well, and has proven himself in high pressure games unlike some of the other young guys that are options. As we're almost a month from the team announcement, it would be interesting to hear you share your thoughts on it, or whether you think it's much of a race at all.

  2. I wish Shannon would give his opinion more freely during these reviews… especially if he's drugged up!

  3. Even from Calgary, I felt bad for the Edmonton fans that paid sort-of good Canadian dollars to watch this game.

  4. It'd be kinda funny if every Central team had a blowout win in Edmonton this year

  5. This looked better for Edmonton than it could have. Stars started to run their depth more in the 2nd half due to a game tomorrow as well and they were up by 5 anyways.

  6. I know it's popular to rag on Skinner, and on Oilers management for not getting a new goalie to be the starter. But fair enough that's easier said than done. But how the Oilers have not gotten a better backup than Pickard for several years is the most insane part. Pickard is a third string goalie. There's been plenty of backups available they could have signed. Even if they aren't the best, just to get a change it's been needed. You can't tell me they can't get someone like a Rittich. Staying with a Skinner/Pickard tandem this year is the most insane part to me

  7. The Oilers are completely cooked. This is the worst the team has looked since its friggin INCEPTION, and you’ve got Leon and McDavid. This is a disaster for the Oilers. I think they’re done. This isn’t a playoffs season for the Oilers, let alone an lSCF appearance. This season is a nightmare for the Oilers and their fans. Panic mode fully engaged in Edmonton. This might be the end of the McDavid era for the Oilers. Fixing this… will take too much. It’s not possible in this season for them.

  8. That Robertson guy is pretty disappointing. They should've traded him to the Wings in the off-season. 😅

  9. I think it would boost the Oilers confidence if they just
stacked the goalie equipment in the middle of the net.

  10. As a Stars fan, I was highly amused by the standing ovation every time Pickard made a save in that 2nd period.

  11. Shannon… The reason DeBrusk kept talking is no broadcaster wants fans to have another taste of hockey without the broadcasters.

For those that don't know… Quebec broadcasters (CBC) went on strike. While on strike they still aired the games. 1/2 of English Canada would tune into no broadcaster French game over the English broadcasters airing the same game.

  12. at what point does the Oilers GM get fired? he sits there for years not doing anything for the goaltending to help his team out and does nothing. how can the players have confidence in their management? at this point why try anymore if your manager isn't going to try?

  13. Imagine looking at Edmonton's goaltending and thinking, yeah, those are the guys we want in net. That's what Oilers management has been doing for the last 4 or 5 years.

  14. Shannon wearing the star jersey in tribute to the template coming back as a third jersey. Love to see it

  15. It's difficult to fairly rate a goalie when the team is not helping him at all. In my opinion, in the previous game against the Panthers all players seemed to be really engaged, being aggressive on the forecheck, fighting for pucks, etc. Whenever there was a loose puck near the crease after a rebound, all Oiler's players (not only D-men) fought fiercely to recover the puck immediately. As a result of this, Skinner's performance happened to be quite good. What would happen if the Oilers played all games with this spirit? I bet SV% would increase very quickly.

  16. Skinner isn't good but he isn't the reason why they're getting hammered by good teams. It's the awful defense play of the team in general, especially the two stars.

  17. Edmonton: has it, possibly, stopped playing? Way too early for this, I know, but… what is this?! I'm not even an Edmonton fan and even I'm panicking for them.

  18. I wouldn’t blame the goalies for that one. Every replay of goals you can see an oiler reaching with his stick because his feet were way behind the skater with the puck. The stars were rested and the oil weren’t. That being said, the stars played their best hockey, and they looked good. Maybe this is the year we finally beat the oil in the WCFs?….the 90s revenge tour must end sometime, hopefully

  19. The Rangers may be .500 but their defense is worlds better than last year. Oilers believe they can out score everyone?
