  1. 🫩Idk how to feel about this one. 0.1 seconds left.. I thought you’ve gotta be sh*tting all over me. I didn’t know whether to cry or wind my watch. When overtime ended you already knew what that meant. It was an entertaining game but leave it to the penguins to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory or however the saying goes. Husso was insane. 44 saves on 47 shots? Crazy. I find it a little difficult to be upset at him for getting the win. And his mask is pretty sweet. I like goalie masks. Anyhow, any points you can get against western conference teams are nice to have in the bank. On to the next one I suppose. 😶

  2. If I gained possession with that time remaining in that situation, I would skate all the way back behind our goalie to eat the clock.

  3. You could not be more wrong D K so blaming the coach with all that experience on the ice like they don't know the situation? It's on the players please… they know better than that .. these ridiculous blown leads will be the reason they don't make the playoffs in the rnd

  4. Erik Karlsson is an idiot. He punched it right into his own goal. Dan Muse also a moron for having those D men out there.

  5. Really? Cuz I’m pretty sure I saw Letang and Karlsson both look like absolute clowns giving the game away in the last second. And I don’t even have to watch the shootout to know Crosby did that same stupid idiotic bullshit attempt he’s been doing for the last ten years; skate wide and come in slow and take a pussy wrist shot right into the goalies pads, that’s the best we can get from our captain. Pathetic.

  6. It’s fitting for this defense Dufas has kept together. Karlsson and Letang have no business being on the ice. If you want to play good defense you need players and especially leaders to be defensive, not wannabe wingers!!!!

  7. I mean just tell the team before the power play that if Anaheim so much as crosses your blue line, put a stick right into their skates or grab hold and tackle them. Who cares if you take a penalty. It would be 5 on 4 for something between four and ten seconds.

  8. Cmon DK, while maybe it's not ideal, you have some of the most tenured players in all of hockey on the ice, and the back check was lackadaisical and sloppy. Like everyone thought "the time will expire before they can do anything". This falls on the players, plain and simple. Not to mention, All of these guys are guys that you would put on the ice when you're up by a goal and the net is empty. So don't give me this "these players don't know what to do in that scenario".

  9. 0.001, can't make that up, then compound the disbelief with an "own goal;" no script writer would dare try to write such a fantasy, yet it happened 🙁

  10. Hey DK, I agree, Muse was rewarding line one with an empty net opportunity. Line one had their moments but were outshined by the ducks top line, and by penguins other three lines. Rust had another bad game, blew the coverage on the tying goal, but five on five is slow, sloppy, and turns it over too much. He is outshined by Novak nightly. All this chatter he’s a great defensive player is laughable. Time to move him off the line.

  11. I disagree that Muse's decision is all that egregious. It's 17 seconds. You're not going to simply trap the puck in the corner for 17 seconds in the NHL. You just need to win the draw — like they did, get the puck on net (maybe force another draw in the process after bleeding a few more seconds), and then keep your third man high in a defensive posture. You simply can't allow a rush to get up ice once the puck inventively gets turned over in a 17 second window. If Sid, Rust, and Novak simply can't do that… that's awful for them. Everyone has to commit to the defensive game.

  12. It's on Rust and Letang…their 'defense' was pathetic and gutless on that last play… honestly DK it's kinda gutless for you to not even mention their names when describing this embarrassing finish…what is it about people on tv or elsewhere who cover this team and can't bring themselves to criticize the older big names players?…I've noticed this big time over the years, especially on TV

  13. 17 seconds. Almost shouldn't matter who the hell is on the ice. Almost. Shouldn't have been Karlsson or Letang, Their feelings be damned.

  14. This one is a loss that is almost "quit the season" type of loss. It's amazing you can't consider it a safe lead with the puck in the opposing zone with 7 seconds left, while on a power play. Obscene.

  15. Kris Letang should never, ever, ever, ever be on the ice with any lead at any time. The tying goal was so egregious, and LetnaGs effort so pathetic he should get third pair minutes or at least sit a game or two. If Letang does literally anything, but pretend to reach and get walked around the game is over. Just nudge the body in ANY facet.

  16. As soon as I seen who Muse put out there with 17 sec left, I knew we were gonna lose, Letang is quite possibly the most washed player I ever seen, not only is he washed physically, his brain is washed too some how. He needs benched idc how much money he is making.

  17. Sometimes your best players are your best options. Even McDavid just by virtue of skill and intelligence could be reliable for 10 seconds of 'defensive' need, even if not the whole game. I don't mind the strategy of getting your best players out. But Karlsson, and Novak are not reliable, even if Karlsson could be your best defensemen. Karlsson is not great on the rush, doesn't close space down and uses a lot of his stick and that doesn't work well in the situation that was there like you said. Novak should never be out there he is not even the top three forwards, I trust Kindel more than him.

I agree with you DK, bad decision to put the guys he put out. Acciari to join sid and rust would have been 1000x better even if you left Karlsson out there. But at least letang will close space and take the body to reduce the kind of scenario that would need to play out, even if he didn't play it well last night. Wotherspoon, Shea much better options

  18. It would’ve been incredible if Letang had decided to take the body on Sennecke instead of trying to poke check a dude that has some of the silkiest mitts in the west. He was in position for an awesome hip check. He poke checked and Sennecke took advantage of the space. Idk how Karlsson doesn’t bat the puck out instead of straight into Silovs.

  19. Yes, Muse shouldn't have had Letang and Karlsson out there, but any competent D-man should know what to do in that situation. Those two are not competent D-men.

  20. The pens need to lean into losing. Last night was an absolute embarrassment! What an abysmal performance!

You let them tie it with .1 seconds left in the third period! They lose in a OT/SO again! 0-5 now! Burn this garbage to the ground! FYI SHITLOVS SUCKS ASS!!! Leave him in and keep losing!

  21. DK – I'm gonna push back a little. I don't disagree with you on how the game ended, but I think they lost game because despite the crazy number of chances, they barely put any real traffic in front of Husso. Husso saw most of what was thrown at him, and I believe if they had more traffic, the Pens would have had more goals and we wouldn't be talking about Muse's bad decision.

  22. I’m taking as many icings as I have to, to get that puck out of my zone. Also not being able to score on a 4 on 3 in OT is unacceptable. Get somebody in front of their net and shoot the damn puck.

  23. Erik Karlsson has been burned several times in the final minutes this season while "protecting" a one goal lead, but Jarry has bailed him out, so they've gone largely unnoticed. The most recent was letting Kucherov walk in on Jarry with less than 5 seconds left in Tampa, but Jarry stoned Kucherov, so all was forgotten. Well, last night's latest Erik Karlsson blunder didn't go unnoticed because he actually gloved the puck into his own net.

  24. Here we go with blaming the coach. Anything to deflect from the simple fact that the players have been doing this under Sullivan and continue to do it under Muse and are fully responsible and are not good enough. Btw it was Sid's line. He and his teammates have been CHOKERS for several years now. They have amplified the choking to the point of becoming the most likely team to choke away a lead. Sid should have scored a freakin goal on one of those 48 shots .. or at least in the shootout. He has cost us games and sadly is our best player. Not. Good. Enough.

  25. And what does not surprise me is who is standing in the crease right in front of Silovs when the 3rd Ducks goal is scored…….. yup, Letang. He's just not nearly the player he once was. What's worse, he thinks he is by the way he plays. Sid and Geno have adjusted over time, Letang has not and it's continually hurting the team. That friends is the definition of selfish.

  26. Back in the Dan Bylsma days, I always said he could not bench star players in any necessary moment. He was better at coaching the team when they were filled with injuries. I went to the playoff game against Ottawa in 2013 when Ottawa won in 2OT. Pittsburgh had just got a PP that would finish off the 3rd Period and they were ahead by 1 goal. Sound familiar here? I told my gf at the time that they needed to keep Malkin on the bench. They didn't need a goal. They needed to keep the puck out of the net. Of course Malkin turned the puck over in his own zone with maybe 30 seconds left. It might have even been to Erik Karlsson lol Sure enough, game tied, Sens win in 2OT. I could see that unnecessary risk decision-making move from Bylsma from my standing room only ticket in the nosebleeds. Coaches need to know how to make the tough decisions and sit top offensive stars when their strengths are not needed in the big moments. They can't be afraid of the stars on the team. I hope Muse isn't like that in his tenure with the team.

  27. Does the team have a psychologist? You cant just keep blaming the OT losses on what happened in that particular game..Given the overall trend this is an overall general team problem…they are GAGGING! squeezing the sticks! choking! Whatever you want to call it, bah.

  28. Initially I thought that all Karlson had to do was to cover the puck but upon review of the rules, that is a penalty shot if it is in the crease.

In that situation, just get the puck on net and have their goalie freeze it. Face off after face off to kill the clock.

  29. Letang hasn't even done his signature move, one in which I can't even think of a time it was saved. Sid did the same tired shot rather than working on opening the five hole. Malkin's attempts always look bland. At this point, just let the kids shoot.

  30. Hey DK
I understand that 58 and 65 are not the most ideal ones to have out there in that situation however they are NHL hockey players and should be capable of killing off a few seconds of time to secure a well deserved victory! Maybe the NHL should consider a 7 minute overtime before the shootout. Just a thought.

  31. All the Pens needed to do at the end is take a penalty. Forget the puck, tackle the guy with the puck. Sweep his legs. Trip him. Anything. A penalty with 5 seconds left is meaningless. Try anything besides sliding towards the net into your goalie…

  32. They were caught sleeping at the end of the game. It was unreal. That’s on everyone.

But…I hate to say it…it’s time to get Sid off the shootout and make him compete to get his spot back. He’s predictable and hasn’t been successful in a long time.

  33. Dan Muse isn't on the ice. This is on Silovs, Letang, Karlsson. These guys are allowed to defend. Maybe we should give Boko some praise something, right?!

  34. Thank you DK. Just got done talking about defense. When it was needed the most, we got less. Those shootout's, just not enough fake out's. Great show DK

  35. Having been in attendance, I couldn't believe what I was witnessing! The goal shouldn't have happened but what happened next was equally bad if not worse. Started the OT with a PP and fiddle F'd around passing it back and forth with little attempt to actually shoot the freakin' puck. Now we go to the shoot out and we send out Novak and Sid, then after giving up the go ahead goal and needing one to avoid the OTL….Muse sends out Koivunen, he has 1 goal on 22 shots in 18 games…ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!

  36. I laughed when the announcement of Silovs first win in X games was seconds away. I thought welp, you jinxed it

  37. I think it’s easy in hindsight to say Muse had the wrong guys out there. But if the same happens with defensive guys out there, you’d be screaming for the experienced best players out there. It’s on the players. Bourque said this in the broadcast, just tackle the guy with the puck and take a penalty at least. Then the power play in OT? Really? It’s on the players. They coast at the end of regulation when they’re up.

  38. That was unbelievable. I was going to ask if they practice shootouts but the J1Q answered my question. Even Crosby stinks at it.
