I agree with his discontent about the Hughes trade – surely the Canucks could have gotten better players from the Wild in return!
The Horvat trade, the Canucks clearly got screwed on that one(the only remnant of that trade is Autu Raty).
The Miller trade – Chytil definitely isn't as good as JT Miller!
And now they send their greatest defender of all time…they were better players they could have gotten from Minnesota.

Longterm this was probably the right move for Vancouver. Quinn Hughes would have left as UFA and the best thing to do now is tanking and stock future assets. You can never replace a player like Quinn Hughes but I think the return here is good and obviously no team was willing to give better return.

When I moved the the east coast, I figured I might have to look for another team to root for as I can never see the nucks games unless I stay up till 2am. But with each decision being made recently its been easier to let go of this team. With this trade, there's no reason now to hold on.

I understand how you are feeling, hockey as a business sucks. As a normal Avs fan, this is exactly how I felt when Rantanen was traded. Still not at peace with it, but the business side of hockey sucks. Wish Hughes was more loyal to the team but its an insane trade to the Central division, what a stacked division.
The Central just got uglier for Utah, Chicago and St Louis!

I know we focus on Hughes for new like this, but if this is that bad. I feel extremely bad for Rossi, Ohgren, and Buium; for being sent to the tire fire front line. I wonder what it feels like to be an offloaded player.
