Solid starts for Jarry and Stastney. Some big saves early when it mattered, and no gaffes from Jarry, and Stastney looks like a decent 3rd pairing D-man to slot into the 6-7 role.

Simpson kept blaming turnovers. But the turnovers weren't in the defensive zone. In almost every case the Leafs had numbers back – they just defended very poorly near their net.
Joe Bowen on the radio made it seem like Nick Robertson tried some dangerous pass at his own blue line. The turnover was at the Oilers blue line and there was still three Leafs back – Bouchard made a short pass to McDavid who then did McDavid-type things. Nick's pass was a touch risky (and you have to know who is out there) but man… three guys were back…
Finally The team is playing like they should have been playing from the first game. Must have been something said in the dressing room. Now can they keep it up?

mcDavid being 3 point per game last 5 games. My guy is insane. If he continues 3 points average games for the rest of the season he will end the season with 201 Points. Doubtfull he kan keep it going that far bur not unlikely knowing what this machine can do.

First 2 periods: Leafs looked pretty good until that own goal anyways, really hadn't seen much of their stars but overall wasn't bad.
3rd period: Who the heck took the ice? imposters!!, this wasn't the same team that just played for 40 mins of solid hockey!
Needs to be asked I guess, where was Auston? willy? JT? why did we see more effort out of the bottom players and the goalie? McD had zero problem taking over the game so where the heck were our stars tonight? Not gonna put too much on JT since he's on an amazing contract, but Willy and Auston have been horrible lately.

Stastny looks to be a good addition. Hes very quick, great skater, doesnt lose many races, good passer, but needs to move it quicker. Jarry did well considering the circumstances, new equipment and all. Good job boys!
