There are never untouchables if you're a good GM. You have to be open to everything. For example Suzuki is the most valuable but if you could get McDavid he's gone.

Everybody is basically looking for the same things (centers and RHD) so good luck making deals.
This is why contract lengths need to be kept short if you want a competitive and fluid league. Teams are now basically forced to tank to get top players.
They should have offered Slaf for McTavish. They need to complement Suzuki not copy him.
Jiricek and Carbonneau will be future stars for the Blues! Unless they are blown away they won’t do anything till the deadline. The goalies have tightened up and so has there overall play. I would not count them out at this point!

problem with thomas is he's a right shot, we need a left shot C on the second line
