I think this "been playing better lately" isn't really a GM-level stuff. I mean, yeah, nice, of course you want your team to win, but the "scope" you value your GM has to be A LOT longer than a few games. A year is a good measuring unit, but when we go to shorter times than that, I think – again, from the view of GM – the results viewing is pretty much nit-picking. Buffalo Sabres is pretty much deadlast in the East (yeah sure, Columbus regulation wins blah blah blah THAT'S nitpicking!) and that's the status where Kevyn Adams led them to.
… ok, but is it an upgrade if the Pegulas are still calling the shots? Its a lateral movement at best.

Look at the good news. Now Adams can move out of Buffalo to a place with palm trees and low taxes.

If Quinn Hughes resigns with the Wild this coming offseason, that would makes that massive trade much easier to swallow since we traded away one potentially great defenseman for a world-class talent for a long time to come. Please don't ruin my summer, Wild!

The three game winning streak is the best time to fire the GM that let a 13 game slide happen last year with ZERO effort to try to stop it in any way, shape or form. Can't let that guy run the Trade Deadline and mess this up anymore. Go Sabres!

Smith injury sucks but on the bright side I'm excited to see Igor getting the call up. Kids lit it up at like every level like came to the OHL at the tail end of last year and in just 23 games had 55pts so more than 2pg. Now in his first year in the AHL he's close to a point per game with 23 points in 25 games. Could see them maybe putting him on the top line with Celebrini as like Smith he's a righty.
Good move by Sabres getting a new GM. Not a fan of who they hired as his replacement though.
