As a Stars fan…. I could NOT understand why Matthews was allowed to be on last year's 4Nations American team, when I was already watching Steve's 2024-25 LFRs. I'm from Texas. I shouldn't know anything about Matthews' lack of concern. But here we are.
Nobody ever talks about what Toronto has above the rest of the league and the consequences of that. They are the most pampered franchise in regards to the players yet they are soft as butter on a hot stove because they don't have to earn anything to receive the extra incentives of corporate sponsorship and middle aged woman spa treatment. This is why Berube will never succeed there, the diva culture of the Leafs is in opposition to Berube's personality. How many decades of underperfomance are the Leafs at? Maybe cut the incentives and make the players understand an earn it culture and it will transfer to the ice
