There’s a lot of overreaction here when there are 7 guys out. Talking about changing up the roster after this year? Let them get their guys back before we jump off a cliff.
Now after back to back wins against the Blue Jackets and Islanders the Panthers are 4 points out of a playoff spot. To say they won’t be in the hunt for a spot would be short-sighted. 4 points.
As a cats fan we are missing Sasha, chucky, Kulikov, gadgo, nose. 2 huge offensive/defensive players, middle defence, and 2 huge 4th line players. It's no bueno!!! So the fact we are able to win games is a miracle🙏🏻 hopefully Chucky back soon and hopefully we start winning more

@thehockeyguy we saw Tkachuk the week before Thanksgiving. He is in elite shape and looked incredibly well-rested. No idea about the skating, but he looked great.
So, the last 3 times a team won the Cup then missed the playoffs were 30 years ago, 20 years ago, & 10 years ago.
Gosh, if only I could detect some sort of pattern there! Oh well 😅
Florida only looks like it has loyalty because they're winning. They don't, see Huberdeau after the last season he had there.
if we miss it ohh well… still got almost the whole team signed until 2030. dont brink barkov back and let him rest. use the rising cap to keep ERod. get em in 2026.

I want to see them go for the 3-peat but won't be heartbroken if it doesn't happen. Two Stanley Cups will do that for you.
Been a fan of this team since Ollie Jokinen, Stephen Weiss, Roberto Loungo, played on the team. I even have a game used puck from 2009. But it’s funny how people call us Panther fans bandwagons because of their success. And make up theories about their cup journeys like the Greg and Colin Campbell, Gary Bettman, etc. It’s good to be hated more than loved LOL.
Bobrovsky will get extended no doubt. I expect him to get extended throughout the rest of this cores tenure, 3-4 years. Remember he cap hit right now is $10m so even extending Bob would free up cap space. Maybe something like 3y / $5.5m would do for a guy like Bobrovsky in this stage in his career.
To me Tarasov has looked great. I think they’re fully expecting Tarasov to be the backup for a few years and take over the starting role. That’s why they traded for him in my opinion.
Carter Verhaeghe, much like Sam Bennett, doesn’t get a lot of criticism in Florida because of how he produces in the playoffs. He turns into one of the most clutch players in the NHL in May and June and that’s what Bill Zito paid for.
Bennett and Verhaeghes numbers during the regular season don’t scream that they have team friendly deals but Bennett just won the Conn Smythe and Verhaeghe always gives you a timely goal or an OT dagger when the lights shine the brightest.
And that circles back to the issue with the Panthers this season. They paid thier playoff performers, but with Tkachuk and Barkov out there’s no one picking up the slack during the regular season, while Bennett and Verhaeghe both dont have a nose for the net and are huge defensive liabilities.
That’s not to say they’re useless without Tkachuk and Barkov but let’s be honest Verhaghe doesn’t need to worry about defense when he’s got the 45 time Selke winner centering him, and Bennett and Tkachuk are like Yin and Yang when they’re playing together.
Even if they do make the playoffs, I don’t see them winning again. No team has won 3x in a row since the Islanders of the ‘80s. I don’t see the Panthers in their current state making it happen

That 10 game schedule.is going to put them more than 10 points back, and cripple their chances. Barkov won't be back the rest of the regular season. Tkachuk alone, won't be enough to leap frog the teams ahead of them.

Take out "only" two players from the Oilers, let's say McDavid and Draisaitl, and tell me if the team still performs… Now, we have had over 8 injuries – and we're still over .500… Give me a break! We will be fine. Probably won't win it, but at least get to playoffs.
I would take a team (Panthers) that gets me to the playoffs, with players (Bennett, Verhaeghe) that perform when it matters, ALL DAY than a team (like the Leafs) with players (too many to choose from) that choke… But good analysis lol
Florida were not the best regular season team last year either when they had Barkov and Tkachuk (was out half of season). If they would get to playoffs i think they would still be the favorite to win. This year the difference is if they dont even make to playoffs.

I'm just gonna chalk it up to injuries honestly. If we don't win this year, oh well. Have to hope to get healthy and try and win some more in the ensuing years

Sam Bennett and Verhaege have to elevate their games right now they look just but avg players. I know they are not avg Bennett is the connsmythe and received a great contract I was expecting more of him this season after that great Stanley cup run I thought it was his breakout year.

This is just exposing how the panthers suck. Barkov is everything. Without Bennets elbow to the head Toronto beats them last spring. This team is full of trash rats that represent a trash city of Miami, low lives.

Who cares if they do not go to the playoffs this year. If they don't they are winning the cup next year. Three in a row would be cool but this core has at least two more cups left in the tank. I think it is also unfair to say "they have had two guys out" and where is the "depth" when straight up three games ago was the first time there was more than one intact line from last year.

The guys have 2 stanley cups in 2 years, they dont really need to put in the effort anymore, they reached their lifetime goal twice, they nust need to relax until retirement, they have nothing else to prove
