  1. So let me see here…

    1. Wooden roof indoor football stadium
    2. Dry arid climate state
    3. Urban/wildland fringe surroundings.

Yeah, what could possibly go wrong there.
    🌲🔥🏈🔥🌲

  2. The Cardinals use to have training camp in Flagstaff. The players hated it as its so high up compared to Phoenix.

  3. Okay, it's not good compared to ASU, UA and the Cardinals' digs. But considering that NAU plays in the same FCS conference as schools with arguably the two worst stadiums in all of D1 football (Idaho's Kibbie Dome and Idaho State's Holt Arena), is the Walkup Sky Dome really all that bad, especially considering that it can (and does) snow a lot in Flagstaff in the fall and winter?

  4. Northern Michigan University (my alma mater) has a stadium just like this that is the largest wooden dome in the world – The Superior Dome. It’s beloved by everyone.

  5. Hey fuck you, love the dome. Football, basketball, and track and field are all held here. They used to play hockey in year many decades ago. Go Jacks, class of 17!

  6. I knew a guy who played at NAU, who had never played at any elevation before. I asked him how he was gonna cope, and he replied with, “Well, ain’t it indoors?”

Yeah, told me everything I needed to know about both him and NAU 😂😂

  7. I love Walkup!! You can literally walk to the top of the building due to the fact the roof has awning that connects to the ground. I’m sure you will get in massive trouble but it is pretty cool!

  8. Who cares what other D1 facilities look like? It’s a sport and the students do not benefit from pouring ridiculous amounts of money into facilities where a game is played. Their tuition increase FAR outweighs a new lab or new anything. If something new is built their tuition increases again so don’t try to tell me there is some benefit for students, there’s not. The money all flows up and these pro and college stadium heists have to stop

  9. It's better than those concrete monstrosities to the south. The schools in the middle of a desert shouldn't even exist.

  10. Scumdevil Stadium in the shantytown of Tempe is by far the absolute worst stadium in the state for their junior college football team.

  11. The NAU dome stadium is the best. After it snows, you can actually 'walk up' to the top and go skiing or snowboarding on its roof. Go Jacks!

  12. Im from flagstaff and all of my high school varsity home football games were… and honestly, getting to play in something like this as a high school kid was pretty dang cool!

  13. Whatever. It was built in 1974-76 and remodeled in 2013 or 14. Easy on the eyes. You can see the plays develop much quicker than ASU or UofA.
