Watching Rielly on that OT goal makes me question his decision making, he's standing still in the passing lane when he should be routing towards the puck carrier while maintaining an angle to block a potential pass.
It's inexcusable to let Edvinsson streak through the top of the crease when there's a defender half a foot away standing still, to only waive your stick at him is just a disgusting display of effort or lack there of mixed with terrible decision making.
I'm praying daily that Rielly waives his NMC and they can shed his salary, a true #1 defender has been missing from this team for a long time. It's so hard to watch 7.5 million skating around making 1-3 glaring mistakes a game and constantly getting burned on costly goals allowed.
And don't get me started on Domi just flailing at the puck on the first Detroit goal, skate it to the corner and go off the boards, they teach you not to go up the middle when you first start playing hockey, you have 10 years in the NHL and grew up around the game watching Tie play.
The novelty has worn off with Domi and Rielly is a constant reminder of the Leafs blunders while adding to them every chance he gets. Unfortunately, they are impossible to move and difficult to replace so I'm guessing I won't have my prayers answered anytime soon.
God help the Leafs because we all know the refs and/or the league won't :-S watching that Florida/Tampa game and those guys get fines meanwhile McMann got a game…. And how do you get punched by 4 different people, your helmet ripped off, and you get the extra call…. For holding the stick? I'm assuming it was called before the scrum, like did he hold the guys stick when he was cross checked and punched before the whistle? Or did he hold a stick after the whistle while being punched several times? If anyone has read this far and can answer that I mean I would feel blessed to know.
That was a huge loss for the leafs , they played more hardnosed hockey and got beat , takes time focus of 65 more points in the standings

Definitely a better effort over the last couple of games. They didn’t get the win, and there are areas for improvement, but the full team effort was evident.
Always a challenge on back to back nights, well Red Wings were also on back to back, stop with the excuses, Tavares you know better than that.

Good game to gauge where and what improvements are needed. Can’t blame The Beast for the misfortune. Mathew looked exhausted at that point was put back on after short rest. Where are the others on this team? Trust them!!
Seeing JT on the bench he looked like he was having back issues but looked good on the ice. The Beast played a great game. Reilley I thought needed to read that OT goal sequence a little better. Good effort game and we came out with a very important point.
The Leafs are not a very good team, they are a shell of last years team.Period.
Best thing is for Brad to extend Troy.S . He's been the best puck moving D at under 1 million dollars.Guys like knies and Robertson are really skating hard that was a tough game in Detroit and still got 1 point.

Boys played while they play much better game. They need to clean up on couple little things here and there, but our power-play actually scored for once.
as disappointing as the result is, the last 3 games they've played has shown a hell of a lot more effort than the first 30 games
it must have been hard for a guy like berube to be so positive when he knows the guy wearing the C is the one letting his team down the most
