Thanks Eddie!
FIRE HILLER
I think hiller has every player so concerned with defence first and don’t a mistake defensively omgosh……..that byfield nobody shines offensively. I think hiller would truly rather loose 2-1 then to win 6-5 .
regarding Byfield. the offense in his first year as a winger was terrible. his 2nd year as a winger he started to really flourish.
we drafted him as a center but the offense started kicking in as a winger.
the Kings moved him to center. it hasn't kicked in yet offensively.
with that 2020 draft class, his offense in comparison has left us wanting.
what nobody has even noticed so far, for that 2020 draft class. Byfield is 2nd defensively.
I hope the offense kicks in, but lets not disregard the defense. there was 216 players drafted in 2020. Byfield is ranked #2.
This is on Coaching! The whole team has been in a slump. Kempe, Q, even Kopi have tanken a big drop off.
I was thinking how great the kings would be if we traded byfield turcott kuzmenko and i guess denault for just average forwards who are not futile . I mean maybe denault makes up for it going up against the opposition best .
Byfield offensively has been very disappointing.
We've been waiting for Q to make the jump for a few years now. I love him, and believe he'll make a good 2C, but it's time to abandon the idea that he'll replace Kopi's contributions.
without kopi or doughty in their prime. this team is a 1st or 2nd round playoff team at best. if byfield and clarke can't pick up there game, this team isn't winning a stanley cup.
We have the offensive talent to have multiple close to PPG players, but our coaching system and philosophy stifles their offensive creativity so much. Very frustrating to watch. Kempe, Fiala and Q should all be hovering around a PPG
It's the defensive system the Kings play. If he was with Vegas, Avs, Panthers his numbers would be way better. This style of play sucks. The Kings need a different style of play. Also, the players have tuned out Hiller. Hiller even said they did. That is a big red flag for me.
Byfield plays soft, especially for the frame he has. For as good as a skater as he is he is one of the easier players to bump off the puck which happens 100 times a game. He is constantly falling down and turning the puck over once he gets in the O zone.
The Kings seem to love big players that play small and small players that play bigger. It’s maddening.
Part of the reason the Ducks have been successful is Quenneville allows the younger players to spread their wings and not play in fear of mistakes. Hiller has only been forced to do that on a limited basis with Clarke, who has generally responded. But it's not Jim's preference and maybe it's not the organization's either.
Hiller is not the COACH FOR THIS TEAM, because the kings if they were like the 2012,possibly 2014 kings
Byfield needs to get a decent haircut first. Then, his game will start to flourish.
#55 is not a bust, but ya not going to be a star, they need a star at center
Q plays like he's 5 8 165 pounds. It makes me crazy.
Trade danualt 30 games in not a single goal what😮😮😮😮😮…Kuzmenko needs to shoot more his puck handling is there he can be a playmaker but he tends to hold the puck to long….just Shoot More Kuzmenko…As for Byfield hit the weights your good just add 20 lbs of pure muscles
Good Q bad Q?? After 30 games production from almost all frwds has decreased from last season. Kuzmenko, Foegele, Kopitar, Byfield, Moore. Even Perry forgot how to score goals after hot start. Questions should be asked what are the reasons why the players are constantly underperfoming under the current system.
Appreciate the content Eddie. As far as Q, sure he has not flourished as we all have hoped. But here is the thing, put him in a more offensive system and I guarantee we wouldn’t be having this discussion. He is handicapped by the system he plays in. His defense is great. Why aren’t we talking about that? Not to mention, he makes others around him better. He creates for others while no one on his lines helps create for him to finish. Whether we like Hiller or not, this system is a boring defensive system. Leon Draisaitl said it best last playoffs when asked if he thought the Kings sat back too much. He said, “isn’t that what they always do”? Any explosive talented players will suffer offensively when you are limited and capped by the system.
Eddie and to all the die hard King's fans like me since 1986 here are the problems of the 2025 LA Kings! For the last 8 years Luc Blake and The Kings coaching staff have been just average at best! Hiller must GO NOW with some of the coaching staff specially the Players development staff including Ontario that is the worst in the league!!!
FACT >>> Swap Quinton Byfield 2nd overall Age:23 and Alex Turcotte 5th overall Age:24 both struggling now and very slow development with Anaheim Ducks Leo Carlsson 2nd overall and Beckett Sennecke 3rd overall both "under 20 years old" and both thriving and very fast development and see how both QB and AT instantly start to Thrive!!! Any player who comes to the Kings system starts to struggle!
Byfield’s offensive game is super speed just past the blue line, stick handle, and lose the puck or get bullied off the puck. Rarely shoots and when he does, it’s far from the net or wide.
Just a reminder, Stutzle 14G 14A this season career total points 354, Bustfield 4G 15A this season and career total points 161! Not only that but Stutzle's played 107 more games in the same amount of time! But I do agree with some that if he played elsewhere he'd probably be a better player since the coaching he gets here SUCKS!
Trade Byfield and Kuz for a better forward until Greentree comes up next year
When I am watching his work and positioning away from the puck, he seems to want to glide too much and miss opportunities to forecheck hard physically. The thing to change that is to get him hungry to hit. His body language and lining up players to check in non-existent. When was the last time he had a highlight hit. If he develops this and with his puck handling, quick play making, it could really develop into some great opportunities in the O zone. His size could really punish opposing teams if he gets hungry to hit people.
have to totally agree Eddie on Byfield – with Kopi winding down this has not been what we need from a transitory player for Kopi – he seems to just be plodding along – not enough – more much more expected from him
