He literally got them a point in the last 5 seconds of the third period. Is it his fault Chabot decided to leave Brady to defend against Josh? Obviously he could have been better but what goalie is going to wanna go play for a team that blames them publicly? On top of all the other shit going on.

You don’t just say that about your goalie. 23 year old kid, and sure he’s not playing good AT ALL, this just killed any chance the kid had at rebounding. You don’t just say that, ESPECIALLY to the media. And the team wonders why he sucks; the guys around him don’t believe in him.
Speaking from experience as a goalie who has had some pretty terrible moments, and had his teammates only make it worse, this is the WORST possible thing you can say. Does Sanderson think Levi doesn’t know? Does he think his comments to the media are going to make Levi start playing like a HoF caliber goalie? Doesn’t he know that all this does is further tear down the kid? He’s been terrible, no denying this. But Jesus fuck you NEVER say that. ESPECIALLY to the media. You’d think after playing hockey for so long and making it to the NHL he’d realize this. God damn no wonder their goalies are struggling. The locker room is this, but worse no doubt.

I dont remember a player criticizing one of his teamates in the last 35 years I’ve been watching hockey.
After letting in that many he knows his team mates are thinking that anyway. Everyone has bad games, players and goalies.

It’s not appropriate to say this if your coaching and management staff is present and actively working to address issues. I feel like this says a lot about a potential conflict between the players and management.

I mean half the goals he gave up weren’t entirely his fault, yeah he didn’t play great, but the game tying goal for example only happened because Chabot screwed up his check.
It’s not about the amount of chances, it’s the quality of chances, and Ottawa gives up a ton of high quality chances.
Good luck when teammates (especially defence man) start throwing the goalies under the bus. Next game I hope they interview the starting goalie and he can return the favour to the d-core.
You win and lose as a team, let the coach and management make the decisions on calling out players in the media. Good teams stick together and would never do that. Trash behaviour.

A team is only classless enough not to support its own goalie in interviews with the media if it has a captain that is garbage enough to support this sort of behavior both on and off the ice.
If Tkachuk had an atom of real integrity or leadership in his body, this thought would never have been voiced by a player on his team.
