Not my baby Whitecloud. I know this is part of hockey, but it’s also what I hate about having a local team I love.
Sucks to lose Whitecloud, he’s a great person and a really solid player. I understand the logic tho – Zack played with Noah and they want to reunite Noah with Andersson.

Oh wow. I’ll never forget game 5 Stanley cup WCF against Dallas. Whitecloud took an OT penalty, where Dallas scored and went on to the Stanley Cup Finals. Whitecloud was visibly upset with himself. Good thing he was part of the 2023 cup run. Will miss you Whitey!
Massive upgrade from Whitecloud.
Proven top pair RHD on a 60pt pace this year. Exactly the player the team needed to replace Pietrangelo.
On the business side of this and from a practical hockey standpoint, yes, this is a fabulous move for the Knights. 100% winning this, especially with Calgary retaining salary.
On a personal level though, this one stings. Whitecloud was as pure of a guy as you get and one of the most likable guys on the team. I’m gonna need a minute to get over losing him. 🙁

Extremely cheap package. Whitecloud has been regressing it seems and this is an immediate upgrade.
Pardon my ignorance, but being in Alberta and absolutely HATING Edmonton, I’ve watched lots of Flames games. Andersson is overrated? Like what are the statistics on that guy? You guys are all saying he’s better than Whitecloud, but how?
To me, at least according to my eyes, Andersson is a shootout specialist, whereas Whitecloud is a decent stay at home defenceman.
This is an overpay on VGK’s part. We’ve all been hearing that Vegas was Andersson’s preferred destination, C.Conroy had little to no leverage here. R.Andersson is also set to become a UFA at the end of this season. So VGK only saves themselves 2.275K this season only, while sending four pieces back the other way.
i’m really sad to see cloudy go, seems like a great dude and i always enjoyed watching him play 🙁 but i’m happy we didn’t have to give up any key players or top prospects

Woof I’m glad. Obviously I love the Knights but it’s Bruins first. I’m happy the Knights beat the Bruins to it. It was too much to give up. It sounds like they couldn’t work out the extension in Boston because the deal was much better coming from the Bruins.
This is still a lot to give up but it makes sense for the Knights since they want to win first and worry about development later. Rasmus preferred Vegas so an extension is definitely possible.
That really solidifies our top 4 once McNabb gets back. Hopefully we can figure out the best bottom pair combo that will take us into the playoffs

Literally was looking at Whitecloud’s IG last night and every photo is of him being in VGK uniform, talking about the VGK, etc ☠️ I feel bad for him. Are we expecting any other trades?
Having his name in our cup makes the pain a bit less.
Whitecloud seems like a great guy all around and he’s a solid d man.
But his play has noticeably slipped this season. Not coincidentally, his first season not having Hague playing next to him. To be fair, Hague’s numbers have slipped this season, but he’s in the Nashville dumpster fire so that’s not too surprising.

The second that becomes first if we win is ridiculous for a rental. If he signed this is a good deal but we should have gotten a first Whitecloud Wiebe type deal for a rental and not have to concern about the extra pick. Boston wouldn’t do the deal without extension. This was us paying premium for a guy we wanted a lot and McCrimmon having confidence he can get a deal done but that puts pressure on you to give in on a deal when it’s going to be tough to keep everyone and sign Andersson.

Dang.. Whitecloud hurts, not gonna lie. I know he’s been having an off year but man.. I love his maturity and attitude, thoughtfulness during interviews, etc. Seems like such a solid guy on and off the ice. I could see him wearing a C someday, maybe not in Calgary but somewhere..
How fucking spoiled are we to have a front office that goes for it EVERY. FUCKING. YEAR.
